Indiana State Police Officer Edward Titus was on patrol on Saturday morning on Interstate 69 in Grant County when he saw the cab of a semi-truck and trailer that was on fire.
The driver of the semi-truck did pull over and escaped from being burned in the fire while the circus animals which included five zebras, four camels as well as one miniature horse were in need of being rescued.
Trooper Titus and Grant County Sheriff's Deputy Joshua Kennedy were able to rescue the circus animals when the other trucks of the circus arrived.
Firefighters arrived to put out the fire while other police officers arrived to close the interstate for a period of about four and a half hours to restore order after the fire of the semi-truck and trailer was put out.
The good news is that neither the driver or the animals that are part of the Shriners Circus were not injured in the incident.

I know how you feel about animals being abused just to entertain people.

It is good that the animals were rescued, and that none of them were injured, nor tried to escape either, as they might have been hard to control when spooked by a fire like that.

I guess the driver was scared of being burned in the fire when the fire broke out at first.
