Another dreary day.

It is raining lightly out and has been all night. A gust of wind just passed over my bear (I mean horse...I mean bare) feet as I sip my first cup of coffee. That usually means more rain coming, in my experience.
I don't have to work today, so I'll try to get caught up in my MyLot notifications and work on my book a bit. I also hear my keyboard and guitar beckoning to me.
Or hills are really green right now, so I'll try to find a photo of Black Diamond Mines, one of my hiking spots.

It's a wet one here, too. I think the sun is trying to come out. George just watched an hour of t.v. while I work here on my lot.

Great picture. I'm hoping to finish up the taxes today and watching Lost again. No other plans except our housekeeper is coming over today; and I have a ton of things for her to do since hubs is in the hospital.

Gee, from what the weather guessers have said, we're supposed to possibly have flooding here on the central coast of California (Atascadero). It's blowing hard and so is the rain that is coming down. I ended up machine drying the mohair pieces that I machine washed earlier this week. With all the moisture in the air the stuff wasn't about to air dry. The only problem is the lint trap in the dryer was packed and I had to empty it three times, but the mohair is dry.
Back to the weather...my windows are all spattered with rain, and I haven't checked the floor, but with the wind I'm sure that I'll need to put down towels because of the fact that the weather stripping on the apartment sucks. Both cats have settled down for their "naps" which are really 12 to 18 hour naps. If they aren't napping they are stomping over the computer keyboard.
Hopefully you won't have the kind of storming that we are, it's supposed to storm from Atascadero to Long Beach, with severe flooding expected from Santa Barbara to Long Beach with extremely heavy winds. I'm very thankful that you don't need to go out in this weather. I did all my necessity shopping the past three days, figuring that I would be staying in as much as I can. Be well and above all, BE SAFE!!!

@TheHorse Mohair comes from the mohair goat. Right now the majority of the mohair is processed in Germany and imported back into the U.S.. Texas is raising the goats and is in the process of building the processing plants for the mohair. Mohair is a wool, so I was very concerned about machine drying it, but dried it on a low setting so it didn't shrink like any form of wool would if you dried it on a medium to hot setting. The only thing was that it produced lint like no one's business. I cleaned the lint trap three times and then cleaned the cage that leads to the lint trap when the dryer quit running. If you want to get some idea of what mohair teddy bears are like, go on Ebay and check out Steiff bears, and check out Edinburgh imports for their teddy bear making supplies and check out the mohair prices. If you're constipated you won't be for long after seeing their prices on mohair!

I am watching all the wind and rain here, and am fairly sure that it will get worse during the night. I will say that the gutters are more like waterfalls than gutters. I don't ever have to go to Niagra Falls, I have them built in right here in the apartment complex.

It is now Monday and raining here and for me it is a the waiting game so if nothing comes of my waiting for two people to let me know what is going on I will find places to look at on my own. Waiting is not fun and the rain is coming. I heard it raining out this morning and it was ok and no rain when I went out to throw out the garbage. I guess it waited till I got inside and then it started. Yesterday was rain and I thought today would be a better day but so far nothing. I tried calling the two people I was waiting to hear from and no answers so I will wait and see.
