It is the year of the dragon in Chinese solar calendars. A Chinese restaurant an ex and I used to frequent had all the signs on it and the years that corresponded with them. It was fun to find your birth year and the corresponding sign. I will be back..and add to this post when I find out what year of the dragon means. It could mean a roller coaster year.. I bet it will be.. And if you were born in the year of the dragon..you could be getting great wealth this year.

The year that I was born was the year of the water tiger. It is apparently a water sign, and I was born in July, so I am a cancer. That lines up nicely. My hubby was born in the year of the rabbit. Also a water sign.

I used to know what year I was born in, but I have forgotten. I would have to look it up again. Neat you both have water signs. No wonder you are compatible!

@snowy22315 I know, I have always thought that is neat. Our son and his wife have the same birthday month, only a week apart, they are very compatible also.

@Juliaacv I was also born in the year of the Rabbit Julia. May be 12 years before your husband, but we share the same Chinese Zodiac and Western Zodiac!

@LadyDuck They sound tasty. Here, no Chinese meal is complete without a fortune cookie..although that is probably just an American thing.

Yes, today is the First Day of the Year of the Dragon. Family members and relatives visit each other. We enjoy traditional Chinese snacks and cakes.

@snowy22315 Yes, red is a lucky color here. We use a lot for gift packaging. People also love to wear clothes in red.

I am year of the dragon and the horoscope I found for today said I am probably burned out and need to rest so I can come at my project with energy again. I found where it says my element is water.

A few years ago, a Chinese restaurant close to my home, had lanterns decorating their sign outside the restaurant.

I am not sure why we should celebrate Chinese New year, I mean they don't even care about our festivals and just keep on polluting the world with their Covid variants
