Another Valentine's another of my favorite song lists with "love" in the title. I think artists enjoy writing songs about love whether the emotions are happy, sad, or disappointing. And with that in mind, how about we "open up our hearts," put on our thinking caps, and see which tunes in this series we are "head over heels in love with"... Comments, musings, your own favorite "love titled" songs and trivia always welcome... ***PUT A LITTLE LOVE IN YOUR HEART- JACKIE DESHANNON (1969) -This song rivaled Jackie's other big hit, her signature song, "WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE (SWEET LOVE)." DeShannon was a talented lyricist, she was one of the first female singer-songwriters of the rock and roll period. That talent was recognized when she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010. Her song about helping others to make the world a better place fit right in with the idealistic thinking of the 60's. *Are you familiar with these songs by Jackie DeShannon? TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! See if you can guess the song and artists below... 1. Sometimes love doesn't always work out as this heartbreaking "goodbye tune" can attest. Recorded in "1957" by "two brother" who go by the first names "Don and Phil," the song reached #2 on the charts. This talented brother act had many hits among them "Wake Up Little Susie" and "Cathy's Clown." But the one I'm looking for has the word "LOVE" in its title. -Do you know the name of this duo and their love-titled song? 2. These brothers toured extensively with a "50's Rock n' Roll icon" who tragically "died in a plane crash" with "The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens." Don McLean wrote a song about him called "American Pie." -Can you name this Rock n' Roll Texas legend? Hoping you find a "love match" when solving these artists and songs. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as the vocal group The Four Tops would say, "Reach Out and I'll Be There." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

Did you know that Jackie DeShannon also wrote “Bette Davis Eyes”? 1. Cathy’s Clown Love? All I have to Do is Love? Hmm…I’m through with romance, I’m through with love, I’m through with counting the stars above. Love that simple guitar opening. Oh, and when Phil and Don start singing…. 2. Charles Hardin Holley. Don’t like my answers? Bye bye, love!

Yes, that's a good description of the song. It was a popular tune. The money the artist Jackie De Shannon made from radio airplay allowed her to be able to buy a car for her dad. What a nice daughter! Thanks for listening and commenting...

Yes, there is no denying that my friend. Have one in mind to share? I'm not a big Country follower, but “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton is one I know that has love in the title. Made even more popular to a broader audience by Whitney Houston's cover of it. Both songs made it to #1 Dolly's in Country and Houston in pop, soul, and adult contemporary.

Were these `brothers' known as the Everly Brothers? I do remember the Jackie DeShannon songs, but I have not heard them for ages.
