what motivates you?

Photo shows an out of focus blooming shrub that is at the back of my property. Whoa on yesterday- Saturday's temps were mild and the sun made it feel like summer. Today its clouds and rain though not freezing. Yesterday was sweet. Gardening buddy brought over a large raspberry start. She and hubby then went over to a mead bar- mead is booze based on honey. I am not a drinker so I stayed home and got busy digging a hole for the raspberry. I would dance if this raspberry buds out and before Autumn delivered fruit. Sounds so simple. Dig a hole and bury a plant. I wish it had been. I wish I hadn't felt so fragile. But I got the job done. I was alone so I made sure to bring my cane. Later hubby got the big dolly out and I figured a way to wiggle the three cubic foot of dirt onto the dolly and managed to push it around the house and to the growing boxes. The weather is supposed to be nicer on Tuesday. Gardening buddy says she will be back then and we'll get busy on gardening tasks. Working that dolly also gave me a run for my money. I really paid attention to my body's dynamics- the dolly is tall and its wheel really do what I don't have the strength to do. It also easily can get me unbalanced. The grass and ground here is uneven and deep with moisture and some moss. But, like I said, I got the job done. Spring and gardens call to me and get me out of my recliner. Looking at videos about the sadness of seniors in nursing homes also get me moving. Rufus sitting in the front seat of the car, itching and longing to do most anything, that motivates me to move it, move it! Barrel through the pain and move it, lady!

I don't get motivated by much. Extreme depression really keeps my motivation down. I am hoping that we all here can muster the motivation to out in March to get our hair cut. We have a coupon and want to use it/them.

@celticeagle Interesting our different takes on motivation. Due to events in my life I do not allow anyone to mess with my hair. I hope you achieve your goal.

I'm glad you got up and out. Wish I could do the same! Give Rufus a pet from me and have a good week.

I don’t want the claws of depression sinking into my skin. Memories of the vastness of an open pit are clear as day in my head, and as long as I can summon the mental energy I’m going to do everything in my power to avoid that. Rufus and I talked the other day. He and I both agreed nothing bad is allowed to come near you and your husband. And I’m pretty sure once Rufus and I agree on something it goes into law.

@AmbiePam That open pit sounds gruesome. Thank you for the sweetness about Rufus. He does keep an eye on my welfare, especially when I navigate stairs.

@rebelann Ask Roscoe that question the next time he hikes to the high country. I can see you moving now.

Still to cold here to start anything outside. Enjoy that weather and be careful.

My late mom told me when anyone passes away at a young age, it is do to sitting around feeling sad without having a reason to work.

@Deepizzaguy Your Mom was wise. People do need a reason to get up in the morning.

I'm glad you got it done. The bush looks good, even out of focus. Special events motivate me. The scale motivates me. My children are great motivators. Even Writer's Guild motivates me. This post motivates me.

The canine pets here are great motivators for their people. I'm sure many would hardly get out of their houses if it were for their pets.
