Well, friend and Jax have come and gone. I went with him to his notary yesterday..and this lady had a house with multiple ducks in a fenced yard..and a little house and corral. She had at least 8 plus a rooster. The rooster crowed several times while we were there.Does anyone near you have ducks?

The farmer down the road has ducks, hens and roosters. During summer I can hear the roosters in the morning.

I guess they crow whenever they feel like it. It doesn't have to be Dawn.

@LadyDuck This one crowed a couple of times while we were there. Announcing our arrival perhaps??

@snowy22315 They usually make a lot of noise at Dawn, I never hear them during the day.

Yes; and we used to have two pet mallards. We had them until their wings grew out and they took off for parts unknown. I loved those two little guys. Have a good day.

Aww, too bad they took off on you. When I was very small our neighbors next door had mallards.

@snowy22315 We wanted them to rejoin the wild. The guy who owned them before us clipped their wings. We let them grow back.

I used to have ducks. I didn't find them as friendly as chickens. I loved their large eggs.

@snowy22315 I think it depends on what the ducks eat. The only difference that I saw between duck and hen eggs was the size. Same with turkey eggs.

The developments here don't have farm animals, but when you are on the private property in the vicinity, some of the people do have them. There are goats not far away..and beef cows across the lake.

We didn't have ducks on the farm. My parents said they were too messy and would make a mess of the dam which supplied water for the house.

My neighbor next door has ducks. The ducks like coming and sleeping on our verandah when the sun is hot. Good morning.

@snowy22315 I clean up sometimes with water and broom. Sometimes I chase the ducks away.

There are some wild ducks on the lake. They always look so cute swimming all in a row.

I wish I had some place to put some ducks I think their pretty cool to watch in a pond. Chickens on the other hand is too much work to have cause the eggs need to be picked up & the pen needs to be kept clean & so on.
