Winter is always the time when I get dry split lips. And those splits hurt. I generally use hand lotion on them, or Vaseline Lip Therapy or whatever it is called. Or even just straight Vaseline. This year it doesn't seem to be helping.
Do you get dry, splitting lips? If so, what do you do to help them? Are you able to prevent them?

I already drink probably too much water. Today I am going to boil water for a few hours to humidify the apartment, which I always do in the winter. I just haven't done it in a couple weeks or so. Hopefully that should help. It's a winter heat thing,

I read that things like Chapstick make lips even drier. I think that Aquaphor or Vaseline are the best.

Beeswax mixed with jojoba and almond oil does the trick for me. A lower salt intake has helped preventing it.

I used to use Chap Stick from childhood, but it never worked. It just sits on top of the lips. I like things that soak into the actual skin to moisturize. Lotion has always worked. But at the same time, normally in the winter I boil a big stock pot of water and let it simmer for hours. That helps but I have not done it in the past few weeks. Going to today.

I like Chapstick better. I don't go out much so I don't have dry lips anymore. Have a good weekend.
