I'm sure glad my week is coming to a end, it's been a busy 1 I can say that 4-sure, from trying to get as much done as I can in the cabin, to getting all the trees around the yard down, to get some sunshine to getting my health back on track again like I was to getting registered in a ymca for free, to going to family services to get my Medicaid back like it was. WHEW it's been 1 busy long week for me I have to say, I have 1 more thing to do B-4 I can call it a week & that's get some bills paid & that's it I'm DONE, after that I'm calling it a week & relax a day & then get back into action on getting back on the cabin to get as much as I can get done there this weekend & week if I can. Yesterday was a "kick up my heels" day for me after I talked to my Dr she told me that she was very happy to see how my health has turned around for the better that all my lab work came out great I did last week & my sugar has made a BIG change for the better & my heart has improved from where it was 6 mons ago. She even said that my health has improved so much it's at a 20 yr old stage at my age (almost 66 yrs old) I told her that's because I have been working on getting my health back like I had it where I can get off all the meds & insulin & she told me well you have done a great job of it, cause most people just let it go & get worse. I told her that's where I'm different than most people, I don't settle for what is, I go after what I can do to improve my health & I also reminded her what I said when I got out of the hosp & could barely stand on my 2 feet in her office that no matter what it takes I WILL get back on my feet. She agreed that I have done just that, & she is surprised I have made it as good as I have from where I was a few mons ago, I could barely walk much less stand up at all to where I am today, like I never crashed at all, That's because I take my life serious & don't play around with it. I told her the day I got out of the hosp I'm not going to let this keep me down, I'm not going to let this PUT me down I'm going to beat this with Gods help & get back on my feet if it's the LAST THING I DO, that's my mission & I'm doing it. I told her I did a test with my Sugar #'s & she looked at me like OH NO, what kind of test & I told her that I went without my insulin for 3 days & for her to pick out the 3 dys I did it & she looked at my #'s & couldn't tell what days I did them. They were so good she was amazed at how good they were but she ALSO told me not to be in a big rush to get off it JUST yet, let my sugar & heart Dr make that decision, 1st & she will see what they have to say, then we'll go from there, YES ! ! ! So that's that there, then with all the big trees gone where I can get more than 30 mins of sun in my yard I can work on getting me a flower garden going AFTER I get all the leaves I have up which I will turn into mulch & dirt for the garden. But in between working in the yard & what Dr appts I have I'll be working on getting as much as I can get done in the cabin at the same time & getting that all done to get moved back in where I can REALLY work on getting my health back. Being I registered with the Y M C A online to do what I can with keeping my weight down to 150-160lbs that will be a big help there for me as well, & where I have my own space & can cook food like I like to cook, & give hubby his place back where he has more room & not be so cramped up. I told my dr that 2024 was going to be MY YEAR for major improvements & I have been sticking to that since I got out of the hosp, & I have managed to stick to my promise so far. I have to thank the good lord above for helping me with it all from day 1 of me going in the hosp to where I am now there was a lot of doubt that I would bounce back, but I have proved every 1 that I'm stronger than they gave me credit for. I'd like to let those in doubt with their health that they can do everything & anything they want if they let the good lord in their lives to help them like he has helped me with my health all it takes is to trust in him & ask for his help & not give up.

I know far too many people who get diagnosed with diabetes and just take that as a signal to let it all go because the damage is already present. I am so glad to hear you are not one of them. I know a lady who was diagnosed with diabetes, and took it upon herself to lose 100 pounds. She is no longer diabetic, and is doing great.

AMEN, that's how it was with me, I was 200 lbs. when I crashed & they drained all the poison out of me & took my gall bladder out my pancreas got attacked from my gall bladder I crashed twice that was my wake up call to make a lot of changes in my life. I now have been keeping my weight down to 150-160 & eat right, & do exercises everyday so I DON'T get that big ever again. I hate when people just give up & they don't give any effort to fight the battle they are delt with to give themselves a fighting chance, I am as healthy as a horse after all the hell I went through.

You are doing everything right. Surely losing weight is a very big help to reduce the risk of diabetes.

That's what I've heard & that was my main goal to keep the weight down & to eat right with all I've learned about how to fight this mess I have.

@LadyDuck that's what I was trying to do but when you have a husband that STUDY eats & don't want to eat alone that's when I gained the weight I did.

You have made some inspiring progress. Keep it up. Working in your yard is good to help balance your blood sugar.

I'm happy for you. I also told you the doctor wouldn't go for you not taking your insulin. You need to let the doctor tell you when you can get off it. I'm glad she was amazed by your numbers. I'm glad you're signed up with the YMCA. That will help a lot too. Now, what happened with Medicaid?

Thank you, it's been a hell of a ride trying to get back on my feet again, I'm not 1 to just take the outcome I was delt with, it's fight or die & I'm not ready to die, so I HAD to get back on my feet.

Good for you to make positive changes to be in the space where you want to be. I have many family members who just sit and moan and wait for the world to be made a better place for them. I know of people who got cured of diabetes just by making positive changes to their lifestyles and diet.

@2ndchances24 I think its like the old addict thing - The first thing is to acknowledge that there is a problem, without that it becomes a circle of self delusion.

Thank you, yeah some just don't have the urge to fight & just take what's handed to them, & that's just not fare to them to lay down & let it take them out, it's so sad.
