A rainy cozy day

It's been raining since last night and supposed to continue for the rest of today. But it's not cold (50s).
So since it's a rare day of no medical appointments and no physical therapy, unless something happens, we're planning to have a stay in kind of day.
We'll just get comfy, watch a movie, but mostly enjoy being together talking and having a glass of wine. Later on I'll fry some shrimp and have baked potatoes and fried cornbread. I made some slaw yesterday for our dinner. BTW, home made slaw is so much better than from any fast food place, even KFC. And it's really easy to make.
So, that's the plan, but we all know plans can change very quickly. That's part of life.

@LindaOHio Oh my, the painful surprises just keep on coming! Will that surgery complicate all the other issues? Linda, I know you must feel overwhelmed. I wish I could be nearby to help you.

@1creekgirl While in the hospital he complained of hip pain. They took a scan and discovered that he had a fractured hip. He must have been in a lot of pain when they made him do physical therapy at rehab. He will be having surgery on Monday or Tuesday. How are you and Dale doing?

Your dinner sounds delicious. I love fried shirmp!! I agree that homemade slaw is better than anything you can buy.

Most homemade food is better that store bought. Well, mine is most of the time, lol. I'm still working on cooking gluten free...a lot of it turns out well, but sometimes.....

Marie, how do you make your slaw? I buy the pre-shredded cabbage (so much easier and less messy than cutting up a head of cabbage.) Then I mix in mayo, mustard, chopped sweet pickles, salt, pepper, and sugar.

@1creekgirl I do mine similar, but I use Splenda instead of sugar. I don’t use pickles either. That sounds good.
