I got out of bed

My carpal tunnel or whatever it is disturbed me this morning. I have been awake since around 3 a.m. but did not get out of bed until 4:30. I have a three day weekend, sort of. I will go in to work for about an hour Monday afternoon. I will ride the bus. Our schools are out, but Hillsboro is in session. Kids are riding and require a para support. That will be me. So, a four day work week then Spring Break. The plumber from the housing agency came and got what was needed done. This is not out of my pocket at all. This is step one of a three step process to replace my heating system with something that works and is safe. This process has taken approximately three years. I am excited, but will also believe it when I see it. I will keep you posted.

That's a long time to have had to wait for the plumbing repairs.

These are not actual "repairs". It was combining the water lines and removing one hot water heater. I could have gone all my life without it, but taking out the one hot water heater makes an excellent place for a central heat furnace. Three years is the amount of time applying for and getting the grant to do all of the work.

That will be great if the repairs work. Carpal tunnel is the pits. My Siamese boy is insisting I hold him. This is causing my left hand to go numb so he will have to move soon.

Cat lovers united!! I think if I would get my paraffin bath out I could relieve most of my symptoms.

Ugh, sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel woes, and those early mornings are no fun! Sounds like you have a light week ahead though, with a 4-day workweek and then Spring Break. That's awesome! And fantastic news about the heating system - 3 years is a long wait but hopefully step 2 and 3 are much quicker! Keep us posted!

I am sorry, I hate to wake up at 3, because when I am finally ready to sleep again it's time to get up.

Yes. Exactly. It really would not be too bad if I did not work. I could just go back to bed.

Why are the schools out a week before spring break?

Probably to compensate the teachers for working extra hours during conference week and to schedule some trainings for them in newer programs. We do early release, etc. often for the purpose of keeping up to date.

It looks like this will all be done between now and Easter, including sealing any air leaks to make things very efficient.
