Probably the least favourite recipe!

Recently we took Little One to a day-long event some way away, so we needed to amuse ourselves for the day. We wandered around the town, visited the local museum and of course browsed in some of the charity shops, where I bought an interesting-looking cookbook of slow-cooker recipes. Naturally I already have quite a lot of recipe books but sometimes you just feel as if you are picking the same old favourites over and over again so I thought I’d look for something new. After all that we retired to a coffee shop and while relaxing with a drink I decided to leaf through my new book. I found some recipes that I would really like to try and some that were a bit out of the ordinary. But the one that really made me laugh was this – I can just picture Little One’s face if I produced this for dinner! Would you like to try it? All rights reserved. © Text copyright Fleur 2024.

I doubt that I would eat it prepared like this. I have had octopus and really don't care for it. It's more of a visual and textural thing. Have a good day.

I have had octopus too and enjoyed it. In fact I think I prefer the octopus to the turnips I must be preparing them wrong!

I have always thought, if you wanted to know what octopus is like, cook a tire.

Maybe you could come up with an imaginative title for it;; one that doesn't mention octopus or turnip.

I'm not sure that would be enough to dupe them. Unless I also minced everything up really small - but not too small or that would be soup, which Little One also doesn't like

@Fleura It may be best just to make something and to forget about octopus and turnip. My Mum always put turnip in soups and stews but it's not used much here. Occasionally we had it boiled or baked but I don't think was a favourite with my Dad.

I love octopus, but surely not as it is prepared following this recipe. Octopus Mediterranean style yes, I love.

I wonder what it would be like? I would be willing to try it but I don't think anyone else in my family would so I don't want to make it.

There is no way I would ever consider making this in my slow cooker. That said, Mike does like eating octopus every now and again. He is far more adventurous in eating than I am.

@Fleura He gets it if a place we go to has it on its menu, otherwise he is out of luck. I'd say if he were to prepare it he would boil it then fry it in some butter.

I am just going to come right out and say no. This is not something even remotely appealing to me. I am sure my wife and I would have had a good laugh on that one as well. lol

I am quite curious now to try it! But I know all the rest of my family would turn up their noses. I guess it will have to wait until I have some more adventurous visitors, because I couldn't eat it all myself!

Nope, I'll pass on that one. I've had octopus and am really not a fan but I do like turnips
