The parking issue related to our building...

Legally, nobody should "own" parking areas in the building. They belong to the society and society is obliged to ensure everybody has parking area for their vehicles, as well as guests. Sounds good on paper. But it does not get implemented. Builder sells the parking area. In our building, there is a flat that does not have any parking. So he did not pay for it. Now, he refused to pay maintenance. This made the society people offer him area outside the complex. That has disturbed my right to passage. While I can pull out the car, the problem is two cars are placed adjacently, on to the main road. We do not have wide roads. We also have dogs, cows, etc., licensed to move around with immunity. The lane is fed by 4 incoming roads to right, and one incoming road towards the left. 2 of these incoming roads to the right are at a distance of 30 feet and 100 feet. The incoming road towards the left is about at a distance of 200 feet. In addition to these there are two gates opening and there is gate of the opposite building all feeding the same lane. The adjacent building also has its gate opening at about 40 feet. The road also has a school where children as young as 4 are students. They tend to walk carelessly on the road. You bet, I am terrified of pulling out my vehicle. Any accident means a child is gonna be maimed or dead. I cannot afford to hit the cow too, and stray dogs.....nothing seems right. So I did walk up to a guy who is not in the committee but was instrumental in arranging that parking in pavement. He played a lawyer with me. That is public place, we have no control on it. Right. No...wrong. My right to safe passage is disturbed. The flat owner left for his home town. I approached the society, volunteered to pay for restoring the earlier position such that my visibility is not hurt...in 60 feet road, you take off 20 feet this side and 10 feet that side, you are left with just 30 feet to share with kids, other travelers, cows, dogs....pedestrians. All pretty much doing the thing of their own. So his wife says we will install mirrors to improve your visibility. That lady never drove in her life. The president of the committee never drove in her life. They get to decide the fate of people who drive. The next meeting, I am going to record the proceedings. I need to be legally safe, if morally I carry the guilty of hurting another woman's child. Impossible situations.

Knock off about half of the people in that area and you;ll find you will have plenty of parking.

The ladies who do not know driving justifying people having multiple cars and the need to provide parking for them without consideration for me or that child on the road. You bet I am cussing them, and hoping it would be their family member that will suffer in the process.

@vandana7 Yes and I don't blame you one bit. Some people are not worth the spit from your mouth.

Oh my Vanny, this sounds to be such a big mess. Those who do not drive should never take decisions for those who drive.

The President is the neighbor who wanted me to write properties to her grandchildren. So this was only to be expected since her wishes are not being fulfilled.

Not good but I really don't have either time or energy to fight the case. I have enough on my plate with my father down, and I ain't getting younger you know.

That sounds a hopeless situation. I'd be recording proceedings too.

Then I can always explain to the court, I tried to reason with these people. Our reasoning differed, and they got away with doing what they did, which is what led to the poor child' s and her mom's misery. It still doesn't feel good...feels so heartless. But I am old and I have responsibility of my parent, and my home management, and there is only so much I can do. What does god expect me to be? John Mclaine?

Apparently they don't care if someone gets injured. Have a good day.

It is. But somebody's ego is not allowing the wrong to be corrected.
