It is almost Easter or other spring holidays when sweets might be served. I thought about my favorite candy that most people dislike eating I love orange slices, circus peanuts, black licorice, and black jelly beans. I see in polls online that most people do not like this stuff. Most people like chocolate but besides chocolate, what kind of candy do you love? Do you like any candy on the "hated" list?

I love Reese's peanut butter eggs and black or spicy jelly beans for Easter. Coconut nests are good too.

Some of the churches around here have people who make great big chocolate peanut butter eggs. I love those.

@capirani They sound yummy. Chocolate and peanut butter were made for each other.

I have not eaten any candy in a long time but when I did for Easter I liked the hollow chocolate bunnies and jelly beans in all colors,

@akalinus I love those bunnies, except I preferred the solid chocolate bunnies. They are harder to find.

@capirani I think you need to go to a sweetshop or a candy store to find those. They would be quite expensive. It is easier to find solid chocolate eggs.

For Easter my favorite is Robin's Eggs. Those are malted milk balls covered with a pastel speckled shell.

I'm a chocolate lover and proud to admit it. I also love cabery eggs at easter. As for other sweets, not a huge fan.

@akalinus I'm the same way. Chocolate should be its own food group.

Chocolate is my favorite thing to eat of all time. I used to joke that it is a major food group next to ice cream.

When I was a kid, I loved orange slices and circus peanuts. I also liked the spearmint leaves, lemon drops, and milk duds. When I went to a movie, it had to be lemon drops and milk duds.

I think they are the greatest. I forgot about lemon drops. I used to buy no sugar lemon drops to suck on instead of eating. I don't enjoy spearmint leaves or milk duds as much as other types.

@just4him I still buy candy but only allow myself one sugary treat each day. Otherwise, I would dive into the bag head first, eating all the candy kisses I could see.

@akalinus I don't buy candy anymore other than dark chocolate. An open bag and I wouldn't need to worry about losing weight. I wouldn't lose anything.

My favorite is always chocolate, but not if it has coconut in it. I love caramels, Tootsie Rolls, Peanut M&Ms, I love peanut butter cups. I also like the rolled candies like the Brach's candies. I used to go to a nearby store at Halloween and Easter to get the bulk Tootsie Rolls, Caramels, and the Brach's rolled candies. That store isn't here anymore so I haven't done that in a long time. Also now I have to watch and not eat candy very often.

@akalinus I don't think so. At least not in the huge amounts. Some grocery stores have bulk food isles where there are large box containers with everything dry you can think of, such as oatmeal, pastas, nuts, candy, and it is all sold by weight. There are large scoops available for scooping up the bulk foods into bags. Then the bags are labeled shut and weighed at the checkout along with your other groceries. When I think of penny candy, I see in my mind a small area in a store where the candy is a penny apiece and set up for children to be able to reach.

I remember penny candy. Is that the same as bulk candy? It is too bad that we have to watch our diets as we get older. I still like candy though.

I don't like licorice, I'm so average. I've never heard of orange slices or circus peanuts before... I like fried egg candy though. And gummy bears, of course. Whatever tastes like those I enjoy.

@akalinus Do orange slices taste like orange? Might sound like a silly question but I don't give anything for granted. If so, not my favorite flavor but I would eat some. Fried egg candy looks like fried egg but it tastes like... sweet and... gummy. I read it's supposed to have a subtle peach flavor but I don't recall.

A lot of people don't like licorice. Orange slices are like gummies and circus peanuts are like hard marshmallow ?? peanuts. I don't know what fried egg candy is. I see it is on Amazon. Does it taste like fried eggs? It is expensive so I don't know if I should get it without knowing how it tastes.

Too bad I never pay attention to labels on candy and sweets. I buy and eat without reading. So I don't remember the names but I like a variety of candy. My favorite is lollipop and pinpops just because they have a plastic stick to hold.

That is probably the best policy. I throw caution to the wind and eat chocolate. We will not get this day back and there might not be a tomorrow.
