Wow, I wish everyone worked that fast. The patient ahead of my sis-in-law yesterday was sick, so they moved her surgery up to 7:30 AM. By the time I was leaving home she was in recovery!! She’s doing well. Speaking of doing well, here’s a classic song on list of songs with “live” in the title. #9: Live and Let Die - Wings I used this last year in the Oscar-nominated list. This was the first Bond theme song to be nominated for “Best Original Song” (unreal, considering the classic “Goldfinger,” but I harped on that last year). It was also the first “rock and roll” song (again, you could dispute that with “Goldfinger”) to be a Bond movie theme. And Guns ‘n’ Roses thought they could do this better? Ha! Enjoy some classic Sir Paul. Live and Let Die Written by Paul and Linda McCartney Recorded by Wings Released as a single, 1973 Your heart was an open book:

I remember the song and I remember the movie, it was not a bad James Bond movie, with the Voodoo.

Major shock here: I’ve never seen an entire James Bond movie. I guess the closest I ever came was the parody film Our Man Flint.

@LadyDuck — I had to see Our Man Flint because of my massive crush on Edward Mulhare.

@FourWalls Our Man Flint was funny. I have seen many James Bond movie, but I stopped when they started changing the characters and I never liked Daniel Craig as James Bond. I see him better playing a Russian guy.

You just liked the “weeping on a willow, sleeping on a pillow, leaping armadillo, yeah” line in “Big Bard Bed.” (Obviously I wore it out, too. )

Thanks. She’ll go to the rehab facility for a week or so of PT and OT on her new shoulder. She should be transferred there by the end of the day. Glad you liked the song. Come back to it when the country stuff resurfaces.

@FourWalls You're welcome. I hear that PT on a new shoulder is painful. I hope she gets through it OK.

Well, that's an obvious one isn't it. Excellent pick and very fitting for songs with "live" in the title. It was said Paul sat down at the piano and wrote the song in 10 minutes. Funny how inspiration can flow in just a moment!

It’s astonishing how some people agonize for months over a line in a song, while people like Sir Paul can just sit down and whip out a classic like this in ten minutes. If you really want to see something hilariously innovative, watch Elton John put music to the instructions for using a microwave!!!!

@FourWalls Yes, everyday experiences often times find their way into a song. Microwave oven instructions I'm skeptical. Unless we are talking "Dire Straits." (and your chicks for free)

Somehow I went off Paul in the end. I think it was because I equated his music with unhappy times I had.. That's how the cookie crumbles.

Aw.. That’s what music does, however…just as it can bring back wonderful memories, it can bring back very bad ones.

I think the enjoyable thing about it is the way it keep changing speeds…starts off slow, gets a rock instrumental section, then goes a little white-boy-reggae in the bridge.
