Bob so seldom goes anywhere new and he got confused both coming and going this weekend.
On our way to Guthrie our car notified us of low oil pressure. Bob would not buy oil on the highway, but wanted to go into Wichita area to find a Walmart. We found one, but we were in a suburb and he could not find his way back.
Let's just say a big "Thank You" to the Mulvane, Ks. police department. We knew that Mulvane had a casino on the interstate, so it seemed we should be able to get there, but we could not. Lots of road construction and road closures. You would have needed to be a local to figure it out. We stopped at the police department and an officer drove ahead of us and helped us get back on away.
Not so lucky tonight on our way home. Bob missed an exit, due to bull headed ness on the Interstate, then missed another when traffic would not let him get over. Then he was confused about where he was and we wasted an hour and a half before I pointed out that we were headed west, and how to follow our way back to the interstate. Darkness was closing in and I did not want to be in an unfamiliar small town on gravel roads in the dark.
It is good to be home. Bob has an early medical appointment tomorrow.

Bob says I just could not see the traffic that forced him off the wrong way last night. When I am lost, I go back the way I came. On the other hand, he just keeps going forward.

@GardenGerty I do have trouble in heavy traffic. It can make me miss my exit. But I figure out a route or I go back. I don't keep getting more lost.

There were contributing factors both times and I think it takes both our brains to fix it.

Mulvane is a charming town. We may go there on purpose some time.

It is good to be home. We have to get out more, I think.

@GardenGerty You might need to do that so he doesn't get lost again.

When I was driving a taxi, Tom was doing construction work and rarely drove around much. He drove us in his truck to Lowes in town one night, and coming out he turned right...I asked him where he was going...he said Home. LOL I told him that would be a long ride going that way. He said he knew where he was going..LOL When he got to the mall he KNEW he had messed up..he laughed and said always listen to the taxi driver. LOL

Sorry you got lost. Hubby got us lost last month. I just brought up maps on my phone and had it GPS us home. But with a lot of road construction that can still be hard. Hope today goes better

I know how scary it is to be lost. Hubby had two instances a few months ago when he became disoriented. I'm glad you're back home. Have a good week.

Wow, what a weekend adventure! Sounds like Bob had quite the navigation challenges, but thankfully, you had some helpful assistance along the way. Glad you made it home safely, especially with an early medical appointment on the horizon. Wishing you a smoother journey next time!

Thank God that you are back home safe and in time. We often get lost on roads. Both my husband and I are poor with our sense of direction and map reading
Good that those police officers could help you a bit
