An April Fool's Day prank

April fool’s day today. The administrator of a photo group that Vince is in caught the members today with a good prank. He posted on the site that after a lot of thought he had decided to allow AI-generated photos. Of course, this drew a great many comments, not all of them complimentary. But then one member put ‘What day is it today’ and of course, it was April Fool’s Day. So a nice harmless prank that I’m sure the members appreciated. A day or two ago I posted a photo of a huge mural on a building in Perth. I’ll write more about it soon but the photo given here is by the same artist but is in Melbourne near our son’s house.

The Administrator of the photos site made many unhappy, before they realized it was a prank. This artist is incredibly talented.

That's really funny.

It's good to see full size art on budings, the artist is very talented. With some lighting it will look beautiful at night too.

Yes. Some were getting a bit toey!

Apparently another April joke he pulled was to tell them that Nikon had come on board as a sponsor and in future only photos taken with a Nikon could be put up. That got them going too!!

We often discuss how artists including photographers will be affected by AI. We certainly aren't thrilled about it so I can only imagine what Vince's photo group must've thought. Ohhhh what a prank!

That sounds like a clever April Fool's Day prank! It's always fun to see how people react to unexpected announcements, especially when they're in on the joke. Looking forward to hearing more about the mural in Perth and its counterpart in Melbourne!
