Soldering while tipsy.

One of my fancy stereo components (a McIntosh tuner tuner/preamplifier) stopped working recently. I decided to blow off Easter dinner at a friend's house, as my tooth was hurting and I would not be particularly good company. I self-medicated with some decent Vodka, and got to work putting in a sold-state receiver to function as a preamplifier. I still have a tube power amplifier in the circuit.
When I hooked up my turntable I realized that the grounding wire was too short. But did I really want to solder an extra six inches of wire in there while sipping Vodka? The answer was yes. It worked out fine. I didn't burn myself or drip solder onto one of my precious stereo components. So now I'm sitting here listening to Greg Brown, a favorite folkie from Iowa.
Kitty is relaxing by feet, listening as well. She likes Greg Brown.
How is your Monday shaping up? I'll call the dentist and then head out and practice with Burl Jam. Wheee!
I'll see if I can find a photo of the Kenwood receiver I installed yesterday.

No, no! “Do not operate heavy machinery or soldering irons while drinking.” Did someone take that warning label off?

Sorry that you had to miss your Easter with friends because of toothache. I hope that you are feeling better now. You made a good use of time after the self medication and all turned out well
It's Tuesday afternoon here. I am done with some good amount of chores. Now, I want to relax here for a while.

@TheHorse He went through a phase where he didn't watch much t.v. but now, as part of the recovery process he's on the couch a lot.

@FourWalls knows better, never do that while tipsy. The too strong wind caused some damages here around. We have been among the lucky ones.

@TheHorse I do have a chainsaw you can borrow, and a freezer. It's a big one, I call it my Jeffrey Dahlmer freezer. You would probably fit in there very snuggly.

I'm glad you didn't drip solder anywhere. Vince had to do some soldering once and was very proud of his effort, thinking it was the best soldering he'd ever done. But then he discovered he'd joined one end of a piece to itself and not to whatever else it was he was supposed to solder it too.

Oh, yes. I can see it all now. This guy sipping from a tall bottle of vodka while soldering a wire. I do hope you had good lighting.

Monday has been relaxed for most of the day. I didn't do any self-medicating before working on my wood lathe. Stayed off the painkiller all weekend too. Hope I'll be able to do without during the week as well.

Glad you were able to get medicated by vodka, That is what I swore by when it came to tooth pain, Glad Kitty liked the music, Sooo when are you getting the tooth looked at???
