The Neck

I have seen many women with ugly necks. Rolls of wrinkles and dark too. I have even seen some aging stars with this going on. It is very unsightly and really bugs me.
The neck, if not taken care of, can age us by 15-20 years. If we gain a few pounds it will show around the neck as well as other areas. What I do is a daily exercise each day. I bring the jaw upward and do it several times. Stretch the neck. I do a good exfoliation on it weekly. When I put my moisturizer on I also put it on my neck. I go in a circular motion and upward. It really seems to help and only takes a couple of minutes at night.
All for a prettier neck.
Your thoughts.

If we live to be older, we are going to age in one place or another, it's just life no matter what we do. I take care of myself, but I don't worry about it. Those who have lived long enough to have a lot of wrinkles no doubt earned every single wrinkle.

Oh, I don't either. Just certain areas are of some concern to me. Wrinkles can be lessened if people take care of themselves. I think some are okay but not a lot.

It's good to exercise and take care of each part of our body and overall health. I do my yoga regularly and lot of it includes exercises for neck and upper body.
Some ugly necks are signs of some underlying health issues like uncontrolled sugar or even malfunctioning thyroid. We should be sensitive for such people.

Sensitive for some sure. But, when it can be helped I'm all for it. Exfoliation is always important. That helps a lot.

Most of it is genetics and you cannot do much about that. But we all age in our own ways and our bodies just do not stay the same as when we were younger. I am so sorry for you that you are repulsed by the aging process. It will happen to you eventually.

@celticeagle Ultimately why is it so important to you? What is important is what is inside, the heart. There are those who all they seem to care about is appearances. There are so many more important things in life. It wasn't until Hollywood that all this appearances thing became so important to people. It is just like all the problematic things that cause young girls to become anorexic and bulimic. Your writing makes you seem like you have no tolerance for anyone who is not aging perfectly and beautifully. The type that would Botox themselves until they look absolutely nothing like themselves. People who love their people are not obsessed with their high maintenance and costly methods of trying to be perfect. People who are so critical of others like you are being in this discussion are the kinds of people who damage the self-esteem of others. On the other hand, people who truly love and accept themselves are not all that concerned that other people give a dang about their beauty habits.

Yes, genetics is a good part of it. But, there are things one can do if they care about their appearance. I'm not necessarily repulsed. I am just dumb founded that some don't care more. When there is something they can do to better themselves and their appearance why don't they do it?

Yes, and exfoliation is a good habit to get into as well.

@much2say ........I use an exfoliate by Jergens with almond bits in it. I also have a fancy one I use occasionally. The brand is M. Asam.

@celticeagle What do you use to exfoliate? I have heard baking soda and water can work nicely, but I haven't tried that myself.

Not as conscientious as I should be, but I do like to do those stretches. Dark discoloration can be signs of out of control blood sugar, too.

That's your right. I just happened to see how unbecoming this woman's neck was and knew there were things she could do to make it look better.

It sure does. So spending a little extra time on these areas can't hurt.

I don't worry about my neck. My face is extraordinarily free of most lines. I think because I've stayed out of the sun in the last several decades. I let my body age naturally. I'm glad you are taking care of your neck. It probably looks better than all of us. Have a good day.

You are right. The neck does show some real signs of aging and protecting it is important.
