My cousins husband went to collect the rent for two home since they did not mail the rent in. Both homes were empty and inside a note saving keep the deposit they got transferred and had to leave. Both homes only had minor damage so she asked if I wanted to clean them and she would give me a $1,000. We only had to fix door knobs and change the door knobs out. Repair one light switch in the bathroom. Repair two small holes in one house and that was it. They are going to have their staff repaint the inside of both houses. Than they will check the plumbing and electrical system out and rent them again. Not hard to sweep out and mop an entire house when they are empty. I told her that was to much money and she said a house cleaning service would charge more.

Get me a job, I like cleaning in these times. everything else makes no sense. At least know its good honest work. Pretty good if she is being nice too. Where did all the nice respectful people go who know true work value. This world is so disappointing right now, but has been for most of its life.

A thousand dollars for cleaning is much, I can only imagine how untidy the house is.

Lucky you. If you feel you're being overpaid, check out the fridge and oven to see if there are any horrors hiding there.

That would have been a nice bonus. As you say, cleaning an empty house is easier than one full, or half-full, of furniture.

You got a fair payment, for cleaning out those rental units! And the repair work wasn't too bad, it sounds. I would never want to be a landlord, they get cheated all too often by their renters.

Good job, I know hat a house cleaning service would charge more. When a client of my husband rented a new space to open his offices I did the same you did and he paid me. It took no time to clean an empty space.
