Multi-cooker and food processor, is it worth it?

A co-worker suggested a multi-cooker / food processor called Thermomix. I always struggle with getting enough time for cooking and she said this was her best buy and has saved her from countless hours in the kitchen. They are a family of 5 and she is using it to make her own bread, ice-cream, sauces, and cook the meals too.
My issue is the price, it's really expensive and most reviews I found online seemed like promotions.
There is a lady coming to our house next week for a demonstration. She will cook for us and show me how it works, and she is getting a commission from the sales. The other thing I noticed is that there is a different price and offer depending on the country.
Have you ever used Thermomix and what's your opinion about it?

The original Thermomix is very expensive and in addition to the basic machine you also need the accessories.
I have seen it at the local Mall, but I decided not to buy. Anyway Vorwerk is a brand that I know, I bought their vacuum cleaner with all the accessories when I got married 53 years ago and I am still using it! Very expensive, but unbreakable.

I will have to see what's included, yes it's the original Themomix that she is selling. I am glad that you know the brand and it's good, it's a good sign! I am a little cautious because it's being promoted by individual sales people and not in the stores. Although it might be in the stores too , I haven't checked.

I haven't thought about getting one, but some friends in the US use Thermomix and they find it really convenient for a lot of one-pot meals.
I'm actually thinking about getting a slow cooker because I like the taste of slow-cooked meat and, compared to a pressure cooker, it retains much of the nutritional value of the dish.
The multicooker is popular here among students and young professionals. I'm also thinking of getting one for my daughters so they can make their own ramen while I'm away.

@besweet Not a lot of people want a slower cooker these days because it consumes hours of electricity. But I've got other ways to save on energy. I just really like my stews slow-cooked to perfection.

Slow cookers do not use much energy. The same as an average light bulb per hour, which is very little. Slow cookers make meats very tender, I love using mine.

Not familiar with the product, but I think we have similar things here. They seem to be expensive.

I've never heard of it. And they're not for sale here yet. I think I will check them out if they are sold in my city.

They seem to be the in thing at the moment but they are incredibly expensive here. It's good that it will be demonstrated to you. Maybe you should have a recipe or a few ingredients and ask to use it under her instruction so you know it will be worth the outlay. Let us all know if you purchase it and how it goes.

The price is really high yes, and the lady acts like the price doesn't matter. She told me that I can choose a recipe from an online app they have and I will buy the ingredients. Then she will prepare the meal at the demonstration.
I was thinking to choose something I can cook without the Thermomix, to compare the time and taste with my cooking. I have been thinking about it though and I can't see how it can really worth the money. Maybe it's less washing after cooking ? I don't know what will be the selling point, as I already cook at home .

@JudyEv I am working yes, that's what I was looking for. To have a meal without extra cooking time. I am not sure if it can do that, I saw some videos online and in some cases it does the full recipe but in other cases we still have to use the oven. It's just doing the marinades or chopping.

@besweet If you were working, I think it might be able to have a meal ready for you when you get home but if you're at home anyway, there wouldn't be much point in having a thermomix. It's none of my business but I hope you won't get talked into something you don't really want.

@besweet Of course;it would be very popular if it can perform so many tasks.

@Shivram59 I was wondering if it is popular but I hadn't heard about it. But it seems like other people don't know this machine either.

I've never heard of that Thermomix but it sounds like it does a variety of things. I'd be curious to hear about the demonstration after the lady does it for you.
