Thoughts that come to my mind when I read your posts.

I was just reading a post by George B Vieto about a stray dog. And I think that there is no possibility in the world that Luna ever turns into a street dog. She just won´t go out even if the door is left open. Several times my friends are worried about her. In my country we are used to say good bye several times. First we bid our friends good bye when opening the door of our house. Then we keep on talking when we acompany them to the fence that has the outer door. Here Luna walks with us when I open the outside door. But we can stay talking for a long while with the door open. And at some point they ask me if Luna won´t run away. No, I answer, Luna is just saying goodbye. But she won´t step out of her home. And she doesn´t. Just like she has never come into my house, she knows perfectly well the limits of her territory. She had never been measured in an IQ test but I´m sure that she has the intelligence of a genius. I´m now going to feed her. It is turning cold. I had gone a while ago to fill her dish but discovered ants around again. So I boiled water and burned the ants. I don´t want Luna to go and see what I´m doing and burn her nose. See you.

I'm glad Luna won't run off with the gate open.

She only came into the house once when she was a tiny 2 month old puppy and was just here. Tania helped me take her here and I cooked dinner for us. While I was serving Tania went to the bathroom and Luna was there, with poo at ther side. Tania cleaned, I yelled and Tania´s BF then took her out. She never came into my house again.

@just4him Dogs are more intelligent than many human beings. And a lot nicer. Did you see my post with a picture of my disabled friend feeding street dogs?

My dogs are hyper and nosy. So they would explore.

But it seems that you don´t live in a city as I do. The door of my fence is always locked. It wasný that way 30 years ago.

@marguicha I don't but it is dangerous for the dogs to roam as they could get hit or even shot

@marguicha Some large dogs do good in a small space but most need room to stretch. I have the front yard fenced for these

In my family we had 2 dogs when I was a kid, we didn't have a fence so they were free to go and explore. They were always coming back. It's nice that she is straying inside especially if you live in the city.

Luna is too smart to get out and go into the street. Even my cat knows that the street is dangerous, he visits the garden of our neighbors, but he "pass" through the hedge, he never walks on the road.

Before Luna came to my life, my neighbor´s cat thought the terrace was hers. She walked by and did not mind my shooing her. Once, she even got into my kitchen and I found her at the top of my fridge. I yelled. I think that she was as terrified as I was. She never did it again. She did not come again when Luna came to live here.

@marguicha The ginger cat of my neighbors visits us every day. I love him, he is a smart and sweet cat. During summer I keep the window toward the garden open, he jumps inside while we have breakfast and "meows" his way to say good morning.

You know it is that way with my cats. They see me stepping out on my front porch and they see me sometimes go down the stairs but have no conception of the fact that that is the outside. They have never even tried to step outside if I step on the porch to see what it is all about, They do enjoy looking out the window but that is their only concept of outside, Sometimes I wonder what they would do if I left the front door open for a while but I don't want to risk it if suddenly a bird or squirrel might make them forget and then dash out,

In fact I do leave the front door of the garden open whle I talk to my friends. Luna stays inside wagging goodbye. Some people that don´t come often are worried that they will have to go and chase her around the neighborhood. I tell them not to worry. She is a well bred lady.

I know that she knows I´m her Mom. Maybe sometimes she wishes I was younger and with more energy, but that´s the mom she has.

@MarieCoyle I give her all the leftovers I don´t eat. And the only time that I was eating at her terrace (strawberries) I saw her looking and generously gave her one. Se smelled it, licked it and did not eat it. I never gave her sweets again.

Absolutly. I have a rug on my own rug at my bedroom door because when I get up, I open the glass door and greet her. She likes to stretch in front of me and places her 2 front paws on "her" rug. Nothing else.

I think that she realized very early in her life that she was the daughter of an ol´ mom. So she has never jumped at me.

@marguicha There is nothing wrong with Luna. She likes to be at home. My cat does not like the outside world either. She likes the porch and sometimes explore the stairs. She prefers inside too. There are animals that like their home and also like to go out and there are animals that like the comfort of home only.

The ants have invaded our home as they do every year at this time. I absolutely hate them because they insist on crawling on me. Ewww I should put some Terro out for them. Of course Luna is a genius! Have a good week.

I can only put boiling water near Luna. I have a wonderful anti ants spray but won´t use it at Luna´s terrace or on my kitchen.

@marguicha I wouldn't use anything around Luna either. She is too precious.
