It feels like a mighty long time

About two months ago Bob was told that he likely would be a good candidate for a referral for hyperbaric therapy. He had to wait and see what the urologist said. About one month ago, Bob was asked if he would be interested in the therapy. We had done some reading and such and immediately said "yes". They said to expect a call when they could start scheduling. I got the call and was asked what location would be best. He only will have to drive a half hour. A little over ten days ago we went to the wound treatment facility at the Newton Medical Center and had two and a half hours of discussion and information. They said they would need to hear from his cardiologist, neurologist, and pacemaker manufacturer before a final decision was made. At a little after 8 this morning the call came through. Next Monday will be his first treatment. He will have four treatments next week. I am already scheduled to be off work that day. I really wanted to be able to go to the first one with him. I had taken off because I have an appointment with a cardiologist later in the day. We shopped, and went out for a nice dinner this evening. We feel like it is a good start. Yay!!

I had asked about it before, as stroke treatment. It has been shown effective but insurance will not pay for it for that. It will still benefit him for that I believe. With all the documentation of radiation damage and sickness that is what got him in for treatment.

I know that a pacemaker is not a problem for hyperbaric therapy, I am glad that Bob has been accepted.

It is not supposed to be a problem but the wound clinic still likes to let the manufacturer know.

@GardenGerty It is better to check twice than to have problems.

The cardiologist will probably ask why I am not on statins. When I saw him before he had no real concerns.

That's really good news. It's amazing how many health professionals have to be involved/consulted before some of these procedures take place.
