I do and I hate it as it seems to last at least a good long minute.
It's not terribly bothersome to me and happens rarely.
There is an old Irish superstition that my Mother used to say that if you had ringing in your ears, someone was talking about you.

@RebeccasFarm — they had a class at the VA for people who suffer with it (very common in veterans who worked in noisy environments like airplane hangars or in artillery [I was the former]). Helped a lot. So did hearing aids, believe it or not.

I get this strange thing where one ear gets muffled and it almost sounds like a fan is blowing behind the other ear. It doesn't last too long, but it happens every now and then. I have heard a similar superstition (ears burning though?). Your dear sweet Mother

That Irish superstition is in my family too. Every once in awhile I get a ringing and wonder who's talking about me

@RebeccasFarm Yes. Or when I had low blood pressure this happened to me. Stress can trigger this too. Stress can trigger so many symptoms. It's unbelievable.

Many years ago, I have tinnitus. It affected my sleeping quality. I took hearing and other tests about the ear. But no problems were found. Don't know why this problem just disappeared all of a sudden.

@RebeccasFarm everything is connected to the brain, so no matter how small it is, we must always check our condition.

I do. Sometimes I have tinnitus but I don't know why. If you get it often, you should ask your doctor.

@RebeccasFarm That seems normal!? I think sometimes when our health is not good, we may have tinnitus for a short time.

@RebeccasFarm Maybe it's due to using power tools over the years but we almost always wore ear-muffs.

I had it once and it lasted long enough where I saw an ear doctor. Eventually it cleared up on its own, at least I don't notice it anymore. There are many causes like aging, exposure to loud noises, ear infections, and injuries. No cure they say.

yeah it's very annoying. I have it many times. At my place too, according to the parents, they said someone was talking about us and some said it was a call from heaven.

I have had tinnitus for a couple of years now and it is terrible. They actually scare me as I think they are sirens
Last night while watching TV in bed I couldn't figure out where those bells were coming from. They came every once in a while. They sounded like a siren and were scaring me. I finally put the proverbially 2 plus 2 together and discovered it was in the background of a commercial for something to get rid of toenail fungus. I realized this when the same sound came repeatedly on the same commercial for the same product.

My nurse asked me if I was having a ringing in my ears. I don't but there could be an infection or a blockage.
I've heard that saying too. It's cute.

Left ear: Someone’s talkin’ smack about you.
Right ear: Your crush or luva is talking about you or thinking about you.
