I was called by a distant niece.

She is very nice although I don´t know much of her life.
She told me that she would call me one of these days to visit me. Fine, I answered.
She belongs to that part of the family with which I think that I might not have much in common. But then, maybe it is a prejudice. Anyway, a couple of hours and a cup of coffee will not hurt me.
And maybe she is a wonderful person after all.

@LadyDuck I do know that she is a niece. But she has little to do with my kind of life and my culture. Still she might be nice.

@marguicha Be careful, you know that now there are strangers who pretend to be our relative only to come into our homes.

I think that she knows more about our common roots than what I know. But I´d like to meet her. I haven´t seen her for over 20 years.

@grenery8 I can share a cup of coffee with almost anyone. But I´ll listen more than I will speak. I´ll be cautious.

Some people "discover" family in FB and other such means. I´ll meet her but I´ll be cautious.

We´ll see. I´m not innocent at this time of my life and I can spare a cup of coffee or two. But the best way of knowing about people is to let them talk and listening well.

That´s what I thought. I can spare a cup or 2 of coffee. She used to be nice many decades ago when she was a young woman.

That's very nice that you will be able to make a connection with your niece. I hope it goes well.

We´ll see what happens. She used to be nice, over 25 years ago.

It might be very nice to get to know her better. I hope she calls and visits, if you want her to. Like you said, she could be very nice, and sharing coffee and a chat won't hurt anything.

Is she in contact with any of your close family, I wonder? Maybe she is having regrets that she hasn't kept in touch? Strange behavior, but it happens.

@MarieCoyle I am her closest family here. She has always lived very far from where I live. Now with FB and messenger, people get together.
