This happens here so often as we have an overpopulation of geese. Someone is always having to literally fish the babies out of a storm drain.
We e have so many here, one year a mama goose made a nest next to my patio behind a flower pot!

We have a lot of geese who do not leave for the winter, it didn't used to be that way. This is Illinois, it gets very cold here with snow and ice in the winter. But so many of the geese stayed.
I will try to get a picture soon to show to you, George. We have 2 new mamas with babies, I saw them yesterday.

Poor little duckies. So sad that those three were rejected by mom.

Sounds like mother ducks are becoming much too careless. Were they humans these moms would wind up in group about how to take better care of their children,

That is true that mom ducks are starting to get careless.

Most likely what happened was that the ducklings were not as strong as the other ducklings.

They are very young ducklings and surely would not have survived without being rescued, good on the bank workers.
