I’ve finished another jigsaw. This one also had a barn, Friesian cows and sunflowers in it and the pieces were big, almost huge in fact, so it wasn’t all that hard to do. I bought home four jigsaws from my sister’s and now have only one more to do. This one has jungle scenes and elephants. I think it has big pieces too. The jigsaws all have the edge pieces in a separate plastic bag which saves a bit of time. I usually sort most of the other pieces according to colour. Otherwise, there are so many pieces it can be difficult to get started. We are off to visit Vince’s eldest brother shortly. He is 86 and his wife just a few years younger. We haven’t seen them for a while although Vince and his brother ring each other quite often

I love jigsaw puzzles. The more challenging, the better. But I have no space to put any up right now. The ones I have are packed for my eventual move, and then I should have plenty of room.

Swan-shaped puzzle with lots of water animals within.

A friend and I put this puzzle together a couple of years ago. I had never done an odd shaped puzzle before. This one was a real challenge but fun. I have not put any together since due to not having the space allowed here anymore. Management took that option away from us.

@capirani That's a really lovely jigsaw. My sister has done these shaped ones. A galloping horse, a giraffe and a wolf come to mind.

As a kid, I liked the USA puzzles and learning capitols, but never could get interested in other puzzles. Have a good visit!

I had a buzz for a while and learnt all the US and Canadian states, the English and Irish counties and US capital cities. And the African countries - but I've forgotten some of them now.

I used to do the same when I started a jigsaw, I separated all the edge pieces and then I sorted by colour.

@LadyDuck If ever I do a jigsaw where the edges haven't been kept apart, I put them into a ziplock bag when I take it apart again.

I think so too. Sometimes I don't finish the edge if I find it starts getting problematic.

I always put the edge pieces together first, then look for similar patterns on the jigsaw pieces. 3 down 1 to go, your on a roll.

I do the edges unless I hit a hiccup. Sometimes with a lot of sky or whatever, I leave the edge until I've done the rest.

Some of the online jigsaws I find quite difficult depending on what they are. At least with the online ones, the pieces are all the right way up.

It depends how long I get to spend on it but maybe a week if the pieces are small. These smaller ones with large pieces I can sometimes do in a day or two.
