22 May - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from sunny, windy, chilly Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Currently, it's 66 F.
It's been a good day and one when the plans went out the window.
I'm thankful I'm flexible when it comes to plans for the day. I got a phone call this morning that had me going to the community room instead of Bible study. The manager met with several of us. You could say everything hit the fan. Not everyone was happy with what took place. One thing talked about was the negativity towards my friend who does most of the decorating around here, and takes care of the flowers around the complex, out of her own pocket. She's not a paid employee, but lives here. She felt better when we left the community room, which is no longer the community room. It's now closed permanently to the residents. It will be the maintenance room from now on. I guarantee that was not welcome news to anybody. However, I'm thankful I know what's going on. I can work with that.
I'm thankful for the short nap this morning before the phone call.
I'm thankful I have the notifications finished and can visit with you in your part of the world. You're a huge part of my world.
I'm thankful I got the laundry done first thing this morning. I had the landry done by five a.m.
I'm thankful for the work I did on In the Hands of Mighty Men. It's coming along well.
Okay, that's my day. I also canceled prayer. No one would be there. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Sucks you're losing your community room. But, flexibility isn't a bad thing. I know you enjoyed using it, but that's the breaks when it comes to things like that. I'm thankful i only had to deal with one fight today. I think George is starting to feel a little better too. He isn't saying that he feels like a cat's purring in his stomach anymore. I'll just do his tube today and maybe tomorrow, unless he asks me for food. I know the goal is to get his peg tube out, but if eating hurts, then I can't force him. But, I've also noticed his talking is better so that's another thing to be thankful for.

@just4him He's trying at least. We still rely a lot on the tube, but healing takes time.

So where will the complex host community activities? I understand they likely need a maintenance room, but could they not think of something better than taking away the community room?

She didn't say, but the fire marshal was here a few days ago. The room doesn't have two exit/entry doors. According to fire codes the room needs two. So, the room will no longer host activities as it did in the past. All activities are in the third-floor lounge now.

I don’t like hearing your community room has been taken away, but hopefully something positive happens.
I’m thankful a seller who gave me a defective product sent me a new one without me having to send back the original product. I hate having to do that with returns.

Thank you. It's actually for the best, but nobody sees it that way. The community room is supposed to have two doors to get out in an emergency. The room only has one door.
I'm glad you didn't need to send back the defective product when the seller sent you a new one.

Changes and more changes it seems. I am glad to hear it is all stuff that will be workable. Maybe you folks can meet in each other's rooms or something.

It doesn't seem like it, but it is. The room needs two doors in an emergency. It only has one door.
Thank you. It was good.

That's a pity about the community room. I'm thankful that someone is coming out to look at the broken window today and that tomorrow I will be going to see my husband. Have a good day.

Sorry about the community room. Hope you can have some alternative for that..
It's always good to be flexible. Life is good at throwing lemons at us and we should be prepared.
