What's for din? May 29th, 2024

Since we didn't get back from grocery shopping until just about dinner time. Dinner was easy tonight. I had picked up a couple Party Pizzas. I also picked up a lemon pepper rotisserie chicken and some garlic bread. The kids ate pizza. MIL and Chris ate chicken and garlic bread. I use some of the Avocado Ranch salad kit I got and chopped up some chicken and tossed it with the salad. Easy, cheap meal. After cooking homemade stuff for the last few nights, I needed a break from cooking. Everyone was happy and that's all that matters. What did you have for dinner tonight?

@MarieCoyle I don't like spaghetti. I ate it once in high school, and had the stomach flu. And lets just say it was not a pretty thing.

After we finally made it home, we ate dinner. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on rye, I grilled the chicken last night. Added a bit of Swiss cheese, it was delicious. And a salad. The son had leftovers from a meal yesterday, he had homemade beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, salad, and some raw carrots. So we had a good dinner here at home, too. I think we may make some more homemade pizzas soon. He ate the last one I had made and put in the freezer, so I guess it's time! Good, easy, inexpensive! It also came with a tip--''thanks Mom, that was so good!'' The best tip in the world.

@MarieCoyle I love honey mustard, and homemade ranch. I got a Ceasar salad kit and a avocado ranch salad kit.

@thislittlepennyearns Honestly, it sort of depends on what is on sale sometimes. I almost always used Romaine for my lettuce because it’s way crunchy and that’s what I like. I really don’t care for iceberg lettuce. I almost always use little grape tomatoes, a cute, and often sneak in a shredded carrot to get an extra veggie. My favorite salad dressing is honey mustard, and son likes his ranch, sometimes blue cheese. I keep homemade ranch for him. I also really like a balsamic vinaigrette sometimes.

It was pasta night for us. Simple and easy spaghetti with Texas toast.

You definitely cannot go wrong there. Sometimes we get the frozen garlic bread, either Texas Toast style or the long French bread one. But a lot of times we just make what we like to call poor man's garlic bread which is just buttered toast with garlic powder on it. Hey, don't knock me. It works. lol

I'll be cooking tonight. Probably pork steaks and stir-fried vegies.

I have not had a rotisserie chicken in ages. They're not expensive and I like to make soup out of the carcass, and it IS coming into soup season soon. Hmm. Maybe I should put one on the radar.

I really love garlic bread. They're so good. I love pairing it with lasagna. Last nigh, my partner and I ate at a Korean Grill Restaurant (Samgyupsal) for dinner. We had some unlimited vegetables and meat there. It was so good!
