Reasons to be Thankful

No, this isn't my thankful post.
Too often I read people have no reason to be thankful and then give a reason why. I have a problem with that.
So, here are some reasons you can be thankful every day.
1. You're alive and breathing. If you don't qualify for this, don't respond to the post. You really are having a bad day, unless, like me, it would be the best day of your life because you would be with your Savior.
2. You're sitting at your laptop, iPad, phone, desktop and reading this post and interacting with virtual friends.
3. The weather. Regardless of what it's doing outside, you're inside enjoying it or wishing it would stop raining and the sun would shine. You have something to be thankful about.
4. The fact that you can wish, dream, and think is something to be thankful for.
5. A place to live. You have the power necessary to operate your device and enjoy the amenities of your living space. i.e: food, a bed, utilities, and in many cases, neighbors.
6. A way to get from one place to another: your own car, friends, the transportation system, Uber, or your feet, bicycle, motor vehicle of some kind.
7. Ways to communicate with others: your phone - texting, talking, visiting friends via the above means.
8. Your body. You know it's problems better than anyone, and because you do, you can be thankful because you can live in your body every day and know how it will react in everyday situations. Face it, everyone has problems. As we age, they become more pronounced. Maybe you need a walker or wheelchair to get around. The fact is, you're doing it.
9. Your six senses. Everyone knows about the five main ones: hearing, seeing, touching, smelling, and tasting. Don't forget the sixth sense - common sense. Don't forget to use it every day.
10. Relationships. This could be the first and main one since everyone has at least one relationship with a spouse, significant other, or partner. You're never alone. Especially when your relationship is with God.
Okay, those are ten starting points for something to be thankful for. I'm sure among those you can find something to be thankful for every day.
Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. There's a train track along the trail. I rarely see the train. I did a couple of days ago.

When I reply to your thankful posts, I often will hone in on the weather or my relationship with my cat or husband. We all have a bad day, bad moment, bad something. Hell, I cried today, but I was still thankful having George.

Some of these are always true, and a given...so I don't usually answer mine unless I have something besides these sort of things. I will admit, I am a pretty negative person, get depressed easily....etc. I am always grateful/thankful for family, friends, if it is a good day then even just being alive, etc...

I'm glad you can find something to be thankful for, even family and friends, and being alive.

@just4him yes...I just don't usually share anything, unless something big happens.

It all sounds so easy. #6 is a big issue. All my friends have moved away. Uber is so expensive with the places we want to get to are clear across town. There are tines I wish I still drove but oh, no, not anymore.
And that's just #6. I do try to be positive but reality is a bit negative.

Those things are given. I'm thankful for all of those every day. Today I'm thankful that I spoke with my husband last night; and he could be coming home soon!!!!!!! Have a good weekend.

Valerie, good points and I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Some people are very negative. Often, they seem to be stuck-not that being stuck is a good excuse. Their list of life’s complaints is long and rocky. They really don’t realize how negative they actually are, and I’m sorry to say are holding big pity parties that last forever.
No one is perfect. They need to change and it needs to start inside of them. No one on earth can do this for them. They often claim if having no one who cares. Unfortunately, they have often just worn out the people in their lives, to the point that people have either given up trying to help, or just walked away for their own mental health. Often these people think someone could fix their lives for them but are selfish and cheap and that life isn’t fair.
Truly negative people usually don’t ever change and become positive, because they are not even aware of how they come across to others or that the problem starts with them, not everyone else.
When you think about it, negative people are never really thankful for anything at all. Positive people always seem to be thankful. At least, that is what I have observed on my earthly journey, so far.
Good post.
