Ah. Saving money. I love everything about it. Tonight, we will have hot dogs on buns. I will make some macaroni noodles with butter and queso and Parmesan cheese. Then it's just a simple additional side of buttered peas.
This should be delicious even if I have not told the wife yet what delectable meal she will enjoy tonight.
Wish me luck. I may need it. I am sure she will gobble it up, but she has no idea what she's in for.

I just ate bread with avocado paste. I still have meatballs but I´ll eat them tomorrow. I just read that our country was the second country in the world as eating avocados go. The first one is Mexico.

@porwest I eat avocados almost every day. I love them and they are healthier than other pastes and dips I love.

@marguicha They're good with a salad, and of course I do like guacamole.

We had a hectic day yesterday. I didn't want to cook a large meal and we were running way behind. I had things I could zap from the freezer, of course, but we decided to throw a pot of homemade goulash together. I hadn't made that in a long time, and the son was thrilled. Served it with salad and homemade corn muffins...so, so good.

@MarieCoyle It's so easy to make too, and relatively cheap.

We have always enjoyed having homemade goulash. It fills the soul and the tummy at the same time.

It’s definitely not of the caliber of the finest cuisines, but good nonetheless. Hope you and wifey enjoy.

@porwest My “simple” dinner last night was cooking and eating an entire pack of bacon.

Sometimes those processed foods just hit the spot. Have a great day.

Yes they do, dare I say. We buy the Bar S ones in the 3 lb packs and break them into 3 packs of 8 dogs and freeze them and take them out when we want them. They run a little over $4 a pack. Plus we got the buns at Aldi on sale for 25 cents and the jar of queso was free since it was left with us from a recent camping trip by a family member.
If I do the math, which I did, the whole meal cost about $1.52.

That does sound good but if it was me I'd cut up the hot dogs &
put them in mac & cheese, with some garlic bread on the side.
Being I can't have hot dogs (processed meat) I'd have to pass.

I am all for simple dinner. It is not exactly for money reasons or for saving money. But it is easier for the body plus healthy option as well. I too have sandwichs or cereals for dinner . Avoid heavy or moderate dinner .In fact, there are days I have had fruits . It has helped healthwise as I see less acidity and stomach issues. Continue your great work. Good luck!
