It was well worth my time to get up early and make that meatloaf. It was good as a main dish, and today it will feature in sandwiches. Growing up mom always used half ground beef, half breakfast sausage to make meatloaf. Mine is never the same twice. I used half 85% lean ground beef and half sweet italian sausage. The only things I added were onions, celery, garlic powder and salt and pepper for seasonings. Of course eggs and oatmeal to bind it together. I like that it is lightly seasoned and that it held together to slice and serve. Mine is often crumbly, It is going to make great leftovers.

It's quite easy to tart up mince with the addition of herbs, etc. I keep saying I need to make a meatloaf but I still have to do it.

I love a good meatloaf even though I try to stay away from beef. I like the addition of sausage; but my husband prefers 100% ground beef. I don't think we've ever tried oatmeal as a binding agent. Most of our meatloaves fall apart. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I'm glad it turned out perfectly. I only use beef. I've never had celery in it. Interesting.

It sounds good! My sister makes a great meatloaf, and she puts Head Country BBQ sauce on it that tops it off very nicely.

Ah, the old meatloaf sandwich. What's better than a meatloaf on Thursday? A meatloaf sandwich on Friday. That's just good eats.

I don't put sausage in mine, but I do put some whole kernel corn & I use corn flakes or crumbled bread to soak up the grease it has & season salt & garlic powder, then about 10-15 mins B-4 it's ready to come out I put B B Q sauce over the top after I take the alum foil off of it to cook in.
