Good intentions

I intend to go to bed at a decent hour tonight, and rest well.
I have already showered. Bob made us sub sandwiches which we ate with more of that broccoli salad I made.
Tomorrow I will need to be in Marion by 8:30, so I have to get up and get dressed and eat. We do CPI training every year. The goal is to keep everyone safe. The children who may become dysregulated as well as the adults dealing with them and any other students who are around.
We got a new principal last year, and she is great. She likes starting each year with a one on one with each staff member. I scheduled mine for tomorrow afternoon since I will be in town anyway.
Back to school is getting closer and closer.

Schools are starting here tomorrow. Great day to pick under a hurricane watch and Friday is going to be a terrible day. I would be very surprised if they had school on Friday.

Districts around here put in a certain number of emergency closing days. One year they closed because of the rain. The water was standing on the play ground and running in under the doors.

I lived somewhere once about forty five years ago that had six weeks on, two weeks off, and ran the kids in different "tracks" so the school building was always in use but was not as crowded. I did not have kids in school then, but I liked how it worked out for my friends.

Nope, I did not, in fact, sleep well. The phone rang just before 10 cancelling the training for today.

All my meetings for today are being rescheduled. The training was cancelled at about 9:45 last night. I got the phone call after I had gone to bed. The principal had to rearrange her one on ones because there was a meeting at the state level she was required to attend.

The summer flew by, it's hard to believe it's time for school to start already.
