Why, hey there! The State Fair is going on here. My next-door-neighbor gave me a ticket so I can go. I’ll go next week. Today it’s all about having lunch and enjoying rock and roll! Here’s another song with rock in the title. Maybe you remember this one? Slightly younger than yesterday’s song. Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy - Bad Company If you listened to FM rock in the late 70s you couldn’t escape this one. And that’s not a bad thing, especially given that you can only hear “Feel Like Makin’ Love” or “Can’t Get Enough” from them on classic rock radio these days. (Maybe that’s why us old farts are so jaded: the music of our youth has been relegated to the same two songs, and we know there’s more and better music from those acts. Yeah, that’s it. Play more of their songs…and get off our lawns! ) Just another joyous celebration of the music that is rock and roll. Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Written by Paul Rodgers Recorded by Bad Company From Desolation Angels, 1979 Dancing on that number nine cloud:

Does not sound familiar at all. I think I may have heard of Bad Company before; but I'm not sure. Have a good weekend.

Their biggest hits are a cover of “Young Blood,” “Can’t Get Enough,” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.”

What a song. I used to listen to this all the time in my car. Either I got it on an 8 track or a cassett, can't remember which. Hey, my chair had a blast dancing to it.

That was a pretty good album. I loved the song “Oh, Atlanta,” which I thought upon seeing the title was the Little Feat song. No. Then I saw that Alison Krauss did a song with that title and I thought it was the Little Feat song. No. She covered Bad Company!

Love some Bad Company! Jute Box Hero..my favorite. You are right about the music on the radios. Every once in a while a station here will play whole songs of Pink Floyd. There is a station in Appalachicola..Oyster Radio.. that still has a real DJ, and they play ALL kinds of music. You might hear Willie Nelson and then Pink Floyd..then you might hear Frank Sinatra...and a LOT of the songs are not the popular ones you hear all the time. I always loved getting a trip in that direction as I can't get the station here...As soon as I hit Tyndall AFB headed to Mexico Beach or Port St. Joe, I would tune in to Oyster Radio. The Forgotten Coast...in between music they give tide information, and someone comes on and tells a story about the history of the area. Really fun radio station. Haven't been that way in a couple of years..remembering them has made me wonder if it is still the same station. Will have to check on it. Wish there were more stations like that.

Another new one for me. How many days does your State Fair go for?

It runs for 11 days. It’s nothing compared to the Texas State Fair, which I think is two months.

@FourWalls Two months sounds way too long. Our 'Royal Show' is about a fortnight I think.
