Can you take three in a row that you know?
Yes, it’s another “big classic hit” on my list of 100 favorites to have made the Billboard charts, proving that I’m not ALL “weird college rock.” (Just mostly.
) Here’s today’s song that pretty much “everybody” knows.
Lookin’ Out My Back Door - Creedence Clearwater Revival
And to think he saw it on Mulberry Street! That’s what John Fogerty said inspired this song: the Dr. Seuss book. He wrote this for his then-three-year-old son, inspired by that book.
My mom always thought it was about drugs. (She probably would have argued that more vehemently if she’d seen this video, with those red pants Fogerty was wearing.
) Children have vivid imaginations, too.
And Fogerty has a great songwriting skill, giving us one of the great classics of rock and roll.
Lookin’ Out My Back Door
Written by John C. Fogerty
Recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival
From Cosmo’s Factory, 1970
Peak chart position: #2
Today’s country song: “I’m Over You”

Love CCR and John Fogerty...Put Me In Coach. When I was a teenager a carnival came to town and on one of the rides they played CCR Bad Moon Arisin'...that was my favorite ride..Can't think of the name of the ride, but it was one of the more scary ones. LOL Love CCR's songs Born on the Bayou, Run Thru the Jungle, and Have You Ever Seen The Rain. I will have Lookin Out My Back Door in my head the rest of the day! LOL

Oh, it’s still great. Fifty five years, nearly, has done nothing to diminish this song!
