Frankenstein was an interesting story beyond the horror it instilled in the audience. Here are a few facts about it you might not be aware of.
* Have you ever read the story of "Frankenstein"? If you do be sure to read the foreword. It is the sad story of the author, Mary Shelley.
* What are on Frankenstein's neck? They are electrodes, not screws. This is where they were attached to the monster to conduct electricity into him.
* Some think that the monster's name was Adam. It is not. He actually referred to the Biblical Adam as he was the first man but never called himself Adam.
* What was his bride's name? Elizabeth. The monster killed Dr. Frankenstein's wife and removed her still-beating heart. The doctor puts her back together and restores her to life.
* What does the monster eat? Acorns and berries. "this affords me sufficient nourishment," he says in a speech in the Mary Shelley novel.

He was portrayed as a monster in the movie. The book makes him more of a sympathetic character.
