What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know!
I'm making the Broccoli Cheese Soup from the Cook's Illustrated Cookbook. It is easy and delicious! It will also help me to clear some stuff out of the fridge. If I had any forethought I would have made some homemade breadsticks to go with. Oh well.

Okay. Let's try this on for size. Does it pass? I guess you would call it a chili of sorts.
I browned 1/2 pound of ground beef and set it aside. Then I threw in some chunks of thin cut sirloin steak (1.22 pounds according to the package). Added in onions, mushrooms and zucchini, as well as two cans of tomato sauce and two cans of diced tomatoes. Minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, cumin and a packet of taco seasoning. Put the ground beef back in. One can of kidney beans and one can of black beans. One can of water. Simmered it for about an hour. Served it with crushed saltines and shredded cheese.
It was delicious.

I love broccoli cheddar soup. Breadsticks would have been good but I'm sure your soup was fine without them.

I had a PB&J sandwich. Broccoli cheese soup sounds good. I'd probably add my Ramen noodles to it! lol Have a good day.
