So…did yesterday’s soft rock put you to sleep? Fear not, it’s two days of Motown!!! I found this 45 in a junk store that my parents ran, and the 14-year-old country music geek fell in love with it. Here we are, 50 years later, and I still love it!
Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday - Stevie Wonder
Oh, what is NOT to love about this. (I’m sure someone will tell me.
) Granted, this is a little (a lot!) more on the “pop” side of R&B than what Stevie Wonder did in the 70s…but it’s STILL better than “I Just Called to Say I Love You.”
Before I even started listening in earnest to rock and roll I had the 45 of this (as I mentioned). That’s a good indication as to just how great and far-reaching Stevie Wonder’s music is.
Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday
Written by Ron Miller and Bryan Wells
Recorded by Stevie Wonder
From My Cherie Amour, 1969
Peak chart position: #7
Today’s country song: “Wine Me Up”
A cruel and foolish game we used to play:

@FourWalls Stevie is one of my favorites Saw him at Leo's Casino back in the 60s. He was so young he had to get a permit to perform in Cleveland.

I’m not a big fan of Stevie Wonder, but I do like this one.
So it’s a Yes-from-Me.

@FourWalls Good. I tried to think of something better than ‘from’, but I couldn’t.
At least you could see what I was trying to do.
