Birthday Dinner Tonight for my Husband

I tried to get him to go out last night for his birthday dinner, but he didn't want to get dressed and just go out to eat.
This man is hard headed, but I suppose a good thing we didn't go. We would have been going back to McComb again today if we had gone last night.
He chose Santa Fe Cattle Co. for his birthday dinner and that is where we went...after he ran into Harbor Freight for a new gas can. He needed a new can to put diesel.
He got ribs, green beans and fries. I opted for fried fish, a green salad and a baked potato. Everything was good and we had an excellent server.
After dinner I ran into Walmart to pick up milk and coffee creamer. They were totally out of coffee creamer and did not have a single carton of any size and brand. Humm.
So, I have a question for you guys--Do you always not think of everything you need when you go to pick something up? We were just at Home Depot the other night and had to stop at Lowe's. Ladies, does your husband do this also or is mine just scatter-brained?

I try to have a list of what we need. I check it off as I get the items. It really helps.

It sounds like you both had a delicious dinner. I hope he had a nice birthday.
My ex forgot everything. Car keys, where he was going, lists, forgot to get gas ALL the time, the kids said he forgot their names, birthdays, everything. So in my opinion, your husband is doing great!

Happy belated birthday to him!
You and he had a great celebration spending time together going for the drive and meal out and shopping.
Shopping today would be very busy I am sure.
When I go out I always make a list of places to go and what I need where.
I started that practice when we were younger and we lived in a little rural village.
We tried not to make any unnecessary trips to town.

@kareng On my grocery list, I draw a line down the middle and list the items that I will price match as the grocery store that I shop at matches, but they like to have them up on the belt at the very end. Listing them allows me to pull up the app so that I can show the flyers to the cashier.
I am a list lover.

Not currently married, but friend doesn't forget things as much as just getting the wrong things. I have taken to putting pictures on his phone of exactly what I want, and tell him to ask somebody if there is any doubt! Marie from here once asked her hubby to get her a zucchini and he came back with a cucumber

That took me to an incident when my sister pointed out to her husband that he had not brought a certain thing that was in the list she had given him. The prompt response was "Who looks at your list?"

Oh, I do it all the time. Can’t blame hubby because I’m not married.

No, they serve rolls now. And all of a sudden, the last two times we went there we were served 3 rolls. I guess we are supposed to split a roll. The other night we were offered a refill on rolls and got 4 in the second serving. It may be that they are running low or too many orders coming in at one time. Who knows. I'm glad you and your husband had a nice dinner. I do all my shopping online now. I can add something to my cart if I think of something extra. Hubby is no longer home as you know. Have a good week.
