Very proactive

It is snowing like crazy. I just got a phone call and text that school is called off for tomorrow.
I am glad they did not wait until six tomorrow morning to make that decision.
Of course I have not even been out with the trash. It is possible that it is even worse than it looks out there.
We will see if we can make it to school on Tuesday.
Meanwhile Bob is out of a prescription, because he did not have me refill it before the storm. I had no idea he was short. It will be ready tomorrow afternoon, but we will have to see if we can make it to the store to pick it up.
Tuesday he renews his driver's license. You have to have an appointment to do so. We cancelled once because he was sick.
Personally, now is as good a time as any to have snow. It sure beats having it in March and April.

Snow is always disruptive. I'm glad we don't get much here. And, all the kids in the family are out of school.

We had enough snow days that I began to rather like staying at home.

We have had several days off so far this year. It is all okay with me, we need to keep everyone safe.

@GardenGerty Yes, keeping people safe is more important than risking lives.

It's amazing that the school was as proactive they rarely ever are.

I appreciated it, because then I could sleep in and not have to get up and wait for the phone call.

@GardenGerty I could see where that'd be a pain.

We could not get our car out of the driveway and onto the road for over a week, so the prescription had to wait, and he had to cancel his renewal appointment. However, we were inside, safe, and warm.

It's good that the school canceled for tomorrow with as bad as your roads must be there.
If our roads are really bad, or we get a lot of snow and/or ice, they don't always pick up our trash on trash day. But that's not until Tuesday for me, so we can wait and see.

Our trash day got delayed from Monday to Tuesday last week. It ran normal this week.

@GardenGerty
Ours was delayed two weeks in a row, but that's normal when the roads are bad and there is no school.

They canceled school here yesterday! I think the Ali Center said they’ll be closed tomorrow AND Tuesday based on the weather forecast. Good move on their part.
I’m wondering if the DMV will be open for the appointment?

The appointment is just at the county courthouse, but we could not get a car out onto the road to get there. It is rescheduled for tomorrow, the 16th.

No, school was out Monday, Tuesday, and Friday last week. I could not get my car out so I took a personal day on Wednesday.

They made terrible school closing decisions when my kids went to school. The bus would pick them up and drive to school over terrible roads and then bring them back when they found out school was closed. That put them in danger twice because the plows were only in town.

That is awful. Usually, where I used to live, when my kids were young, the superintendent would go out on some of the rural bus routes at 5 in the morning and notify us around 6 a.m if he thought it was too dangerous for our buses to drive.

I get mad at Vince when he doesn't get his prescriptions until he is nearly out. Sometimes we have to drive to a different chemist and it's just another problem that could have been easily avoided. I hope you're able to safely go wherever you have to go.

We just had to stay in and wait on several things. I need to double check his meds on a weekly basis, but most of his refill every three months.
