It's COLD Out There!!

Hey myLot world!! Just now getting to the computer with all the extras going on here with this cold snap! It's currently 36 F here with a feels like 27 F, so it hasn't warmed up a whole lot!
We lost electricity last night right before 8 pm, ironically, about the same time as the previous storm the week before. I had just told someone that I hope that we do not lose electricity and poof, there it went. I should have kept my mouth shut! Thankfully, it wasn't off as long as last time and service was restored around midnight. It sure was nice to wake up warm this morning!
The thunderstorms were also not as bad as last week, and no tornadoes that I know of in the area. That was a big blessing.
How are you guys doing in your area? This is not going to be a fun week with these temperatures expected to last through the week. Stay warm everyone!

Our high today is 16F and the low this morning was 11F. We got 4 inches of snow on top of 1/4 inch of ice and sleet... I'd be more than happy to let you come and collect all of it you want.

@kareng I opened the door long enough to see if we got mail today and closed it again. I'm not going outside until the temp hits 40F or higher!
I need to get groceries and pick up meds but we still have food and the meds aren't critical ones. I'll wait! Saturday is supposed to reach mid-40s so I'll do my shopping then.

Staying as warm as my cats and I can, Got threatened by the weather notice this morning in my email saying temps in Florida could lower to 30,

@RasmaSandra This house was built in 1860, so no central air or heat. It's cold in here with the high ceilings.

OK just hibernating just got a message they are having a board meeting for the development tonight...Are they insane? Have they looked out the window? Everything is cancelled and they haven't even treated the roads in this area.

The temp is expected to drop tonight and only reach the low 50's as a high. Despite the wind, 76 wasn't so bad when we went out it was more like 69. In fact, George is back in just his t-shirt. Well, his pants, too but no two sweat shirt combo. So of course. It'll be up to 60 Wednesday. So, it'll be good.

It rained a lot last night around dinner time but thankfully there was no blackout. It is cold outside with the temperatures around 42 degrees F which forces me to bundle up when I went outside to pick up the garbage that was picked up by the city sanitation.

I'm glad you are safe and sound. I hope the power didn't go off again. It's bitter cold here with s**w on the ground. I'm ready for another season. I'm tired of this one. Have a good day.

We did lose power but for only 4 hours. I was surprised they sent workers out with the weather (thunderstorms), but they were here in an hour when the weather broke, so not bad at all.
I am all for that! Spring cannot arrive soon enough!!!

@LindaOHio I wish the temps would be Spring like and stay in 70 days, but I don't look for that to happen. Seeing snow here in Mississippi twice in April a few years ago, pretty much takes the looking forward to it really happening away!

Winter is awful! Losing electricity in the freezing cold does not sound like fun....even if it was back on around midnight!

@MommyOfEli2013 But it is bad now with several nights in a row and not getting much warmer in the daytime. Today it stayed below freezing until noon. So we get like 4-6 hours before it hits again and back to sub par freezing status. We aren't used to that here in the deep south!

Oh brrrrr, that is cold! Glad the power outage was relatively not too long - what a relief to have it back on. And good when the weather decides to get tamer - we don't want any of that stuff. That being said, we have heavy winds right now. We are ok but the folks who live in the wild fire areas do have to watch out.

Wow, I think that is a very nice blessings indeed. But still stay safe and always be careful when going out.

We have deep-freeze temperatures, and won't get close to 30 degrees for like 10 more days. So, the snow and ice we have will still be around for awhile. I don't mind the snow, but I hate ice.
