Chicago Police Officers as well as Cook County Care and Animal Control Officers answered an emergency call from employees and management about a coyote who entered an Aldi store on Monday morning January 13.
The coyote was captured by both the animal control officers and police officer when the animal was seen hiding in a cooler near the produce section.
The coyote was taken by animal control officials to the Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation where the coyote will be given a medical exam to determine if the animal is free to roam into the forest once again.
The good news is that no one was hurt in the incident. Coyotes do not harm anyone if they are left alone.

Wow! I think the coyote can be harmful to humans, but I hope the coyote is fine also and is being taken care of.

I hope so as well since coyotes should not be harmed by humans unless it is in self defense.

Just looking for some food probably. This story reminds me of a video I saw on Facebook once. It was of a seagull walking into a convenience store and carrying out a bag of chips. I thought it was cute.

I know what you mean since animals when they are hungry for food will enter a food store.

Most likely the coyote was hungry and wanted to eat some food.

If the coyote is not bothered by anyone, they are harmless.

@Deepizzaguy I see, I find them cute, but I don't think they can be pets

He was probably hungry and looking for the dog food, Glad they got him out but should have rewarded him with some food,

I guess the coyote needed some food and the coyote saw a food store and wanted to have a snack.

A wily coyote then, as cunning as a fox.
It was good that no damage was done to the store before the culprit was removed.

I am surprised to learn that coyotes are seen in the Northeast and Midwest.
