If there is one thing I loathe is when someone says that they will come to visit me and they don´t come. And this is what Kharla dis today.
I washed my hair and combed it in a special way and put on a special dress so that I would look better.
But I had also thawed a chicken and put it in the oven. Now I have a big part of it and nobody to share it with. I will fix it tomorrow and will use part of it for pasta and another part to make shepherd´s pies.
And it goes without saying that I will not invite her ever again. If she wants to come and show me her tattooes eyebrows, I can invite her to a cup of coffee. And she can be thankful for that.
This is a rant, as you see. But I feel that I have all the reason in the world to be pissed.
Do you get angry if things like this happen to you?

You have every right to rant. Kharla could have called you and told you she couldn't make it after all and apologized for missing the appointment to visit with you.
And yes, someone telling me they were coming to my house and not showing up does upset me. Like you, I go to special pains for people who are coming over and don't appreciate it when my work is wasted effort.

Yesterday I thawed a whole chicken. Even now I will have to work as I only ate a bit of it. And if I don´t do it soon and freeze it again, I´ll have to give it to Luna.

@marguicha I understand. You can separate it into parts and freeze them. That would make it easy for you to thaw parts of it when you want chicken later. I don't like wasting food... Although giving some to Luna isn't wasting it, either.

Yes, it is very rude behavior. Sorry she did this.

It depends on the person and situation. Often times I like to give a little grace. If she didn't call, I might be more upset.

This was the first time she was coming to my house and she called me first telling me that she could come yesterday. For me, thawing a whole chicken means not only working a lot if it is not eaten, but a chicken can mean the proteins for a whole week for myself.

@marguicha So it doesn't seem so bad. You got a weeks worth of meals out of it.

For me it is too difficult to cook now so I will not cook again for someone who might not arrive.

I get very upset when a medical appointment gets cancelled at the last moment due to a family emergency at the clinic when I go to visit them.

I think I recall you saying she was even going to bring part of the meal. Yes, that would be upsetting to have her commit and then not come. I'm so sorry. I hate it when people don't show up--usually here in the US, it's maintenance or repair people or people giving estimates for work needing done are the ones who rarely show up. But it's a pain in the patootie anyway, no matter who it is.

I accept it when some maintenance people don´t show up. It pisses me but there are no feelings involved. Now I took pains in preparing something nice for her.

@marguicha
She definitely should have at least called you. I'm so sorry, I can see why you were upset with her.
