I love honey. I enjoy seeing bees zooming around doing their jobs. I thought I would check out what is being done recently with bees and here is what I have found: * In 2017 the United Nations designated the 20th of May as World Bee Day. The date coincides with the birthday of Anton Jansa from Slovenia. In the 18th century he pioneered modern beekeeping techniques. * On May 20, 2020 the Global Pollinator Map was first shared with the public. On that same day the project launched World Bee Count where they invited people to take a picture of their nearest pollinator and upload it to an interactive Global Pollinator Map using a free mobile app. People in 65 countries uploaded over 20,000 photographs. * Ukraine used to be the largest exporter of honey to the European Union. Until the Russian invasion there were 4-6 million beehives and 250,000 beekeepers. That is no longer the case. * The World Bee Project offers women living in hardship and adversity a livelihood with the option of becoming honey producing beekeepers. The picture is from Pixaday.com

You would love the honey shop in my downtown. He sells the most amazing variety of honey. And sweet bees wax candles.

The war in Ukraine wouldn't have helped with the bee population.

No, not at all. It is very sad that we lost all of those bees to war.
