Do people look more confident after a haircut?

I got a hair cut day before. Yesterday, some of my colleagues were pointing to me that I look more confident in my answers. I initially took those statements as prank or just office jokes. I then met a colleague who is in a departement. She finally made a statement that I look more sharper and have a more positive demeanour.
I do not look awkward, atleast cannot do that while going to office. As a child I hated haircut, as I felt I am losing apart of me and it did impact my self -esteem. However, I am not looking to grow my hair long enough to look like a hipster. Positive compliments can make individuals look good and more confident. And the haircut I had was nothing so great, neither from a fancy saloon. However, I did notice people from upper management look more confident post haircuts.
Have you felt people more confident after a haircut?

Not to a man it doesn't. We won't tell somebody we like or don't like a haircut unless we're directly asked... If it's a woman, we'll say we like it whether we do or not. Another man won't ask a man if he likes the haircut.

@Dreamerby Most men will go to whichever barber is closest or the one we started going to first, like a dentist or doctor. They have to really screw up before we'll change.
My first barber was my dad. He didn't care how we wanted our hair cut. He'd cut it the way he wanted it cut.
When dad couldn't cut hair anymore, than I started going to the barber mom told me to go to.

@DaddyEvil
I used to think men have attachment issues with their barber. Like they have to go to a particular barber for the haircut.... well , women have that too.

A nice haircut can make that person feel more confident but, to me, they look the same as before the haircut. If I didn't already know the person got a haircut, I couldn't tell just by looking at them unless they got a LOT of hair cut off.
I paid attention to my wife and daughter so I could compliment them on haircuts and new clothes... otherwise, they'd get upset if I didn't "notice".
Men usually don't pay attention and don't care about someone getting a hair cut or new clothes.

You are right - We men do not feel anything inside whether we have a haircut or not. Surprisingly those comments came mostly from men and just few women! Perhaps it was weird or they were making me feel good.

I don't know if they look more confident, but I think they feel more confident with a decent haircut

I have a tendency to have a haircut after a gap of 3 to 4 months.
Like I went for my recent haircut just a few weeks back.
My hair had grown a lot and some hair were coming to eyes.
I know that it is not good but a combination of laziness and aversion sets in.
Yet I feel much better after haircut and I also look better off.
However, if you go every 2 months or so then I don't think that your hair would be too long.
Yet sometimes, fine changes like getting excess hair growing on sides and fine tuning can make one's face looking better.

I usually get my haircut in 2.5-3 months. Perhaps you are right , the haircut could have made me well groomed and plus the other factos may made me look confident.

All these years, never noticed it. But on that day , people were commenting on my confidence and could not figure any other reason than my haircut.

If it's a good one.
I think appearance does play a role in one's attitude. If you look good, it comes out in your attitude. I had a much-needed haircut the other day and just felt much better with the result. It was a real mood booster.

Perhaps the haircut unconsciously gave me a little confidence booster.Alongwith clothes and things, it may created a halo effect to make me look confident.

I guess so specially when it comes naturally good on you.
A bad haircut will surely put us in a bad mood and shy moments to show it to people.

Definitely a bad haircut would be causing us to be indoors for considerable time(if possible). But then this was odd compliments on haircut, that too from office colleagues.

Well, perhaps I was cool on the day. Never thought of that point. Could be a reason as well , people felt like that.

My career was hairdressing along with other beauty work.
The people who I cut their hair were always happy.

I can agree with the fact , that I was happy with haircut as less hair maintainence required.Perhaps all other factors could have helped in getting people to think I look more confident.
