You could tie a wool pillow on the shovel and make it more comfortable to sit on, though.

A shovel seat without a cushion...it does look uncomfortable. A cushion on the top might have been a bit comforting.

A shovel is quite an ingenious way to create a seat, but probably very uncomfortable. And you would think that--being found in the Wool Place--that someone would have created a cushiony wool seat cover to go over that shovel.

@JudyEv It's neat to look at. I had a tote goat when I was little that had a seat like that. Hurt like the dickens but so fun to race around. I have no idea how as a kid we could do painful things.

@judyev Not for my butt, that seat. I hired a bike in India once and it had a saddle the size of a sixpence. Didn’t dare sit on it to cycled just standing on the pedals. No brakes either.
