I Chose "Me Time"

Yesterday I was headed to the flea market. I had planned on a stop at the thrift store on the way because they have been closing early and I had an Aldi stop on the way home. I had time to do all, but did not want to be rushed. So I decided that I would save the flea market for today and spend the afternoon yesterday for a little "Me Time!" I went to the thrift store and picked up a couple of cookbooks and an Amish book by an author I have not read before. It is the first book in the series, so I will be able to purchase the other books online if I like this one. I made my way to Walmart next and picked up a few things there on the clearance aisle. I found two Squishmallows, one for each of the granddaughters, some hand towels and a bath mat. I went to the mall next door and popped into Marshall's. I mainly looked in the shoe department, but didn't find anything that looked comfortable, so after browsing left to get the Aldi's stop done. Aldi's was quick, but I did end up getting more than I went in for. They had several things back in stock that was out on my last visit. I ended the day with my stop at Arby's for a Jamocha shake. I ordered a vanilla shake to take home to my husband. He had a surprise when he got his. They gave me two Jamocha's! He tried it, but said he really didn't care for the flavor. What? That's my favorite flavor there! After that I headed home. The milkshake was my dinner and hubby got a sandwich a couple of hours after finishing his shake. Although a spontaneous decision, it was much needed break after the lost cell phone ordeal and then my car key missing too! Have you done anything spontaneous lately? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain-- This is not the one I got for the girls, but an example of what they are--small pillows for snuggling on couch!!

Nothing spontaneous here since our car isn't working right now. We have the money to get it fixed but my hip is still giving me sharp pains and I don't feel like dealing with the car. (It feels like a sudden jolt of electricity shooting from my hip down my left leg when I'm walking or trying to swing my leg up into bed.) I made an appointment to see the doctor about it but the soonest she could get me in is the end of next month. I think I'm going to see if I can get into a chiropractor faster than that.

That sounds like it could be your sciatic nerve. I bet the chiropractor would be your best bet. I haven't had any luck with that from doctors. They just want to give you muscle relaxers and pain pills. No thanks.

@kareng I took muscle relaxers and pain pills last night and it didn't help. I have an appointment this coming Tuesday to see a chiropractor about it.

Sounds like a heck of a day going to all those places plus losing your phone & your keys all in a week. Hope everything goes right for next week for you.

@2ndchances24 I'm sorry about your dog. That is never a thing we want to do, but know it needs to be done for their sake of ending the suffering and pain. Sending big

@kareng We'd like to think it would be, but some may have a bad week, like I see myself having a bad week cause It's that time to go take 1 of my last 2 dogs to the vet, he's pretty much done & I can't see him suffering any longer than he has.

My granddaughters have some of those stuffies too, they like them when it is cuddle time. I am feeling alot better today. So much so, that I went out and bought that new cellphone that I have been waiting to make the purchase. Now for the fun part, learning the new phone. I had to pick up a few things at the grocery store, I've drank us out of most of the apple juice, but now I am back in business again. My new phone is a periwinkle blue, so not true blue and not purple. I choose a clear case for it and a clear pop socket with small little light blue butterflies on it. They are really small butterflies. It looks good, and I am all set for a few more years.

And now you have something to entertain yourself with...getting used to the new phone! Periwinkle sounds nice!

@kareng The 'biggest' issue so far was trying to recall my apple password, but I had to reset it, so all is good.

I don't think I've done anything spontaneous lately, although this morning at work I seriously contemplated faking being sick so I could leave. I was super tired and really didn't want to be at work. But I toughed it out and got through my shift before going home and taking a nap.

Yay! You need to do that *before* you get there...just call in sick!

@moffittjc That makes sense! Ours didn't matter like that at LSU. You had x amount of sick days/hours and they came off the books regardless of how you took them.

@kareng If we call out sick before going to work, it counts against us (as far as how many absences you can have before getting written up). But if you show up to work and then go home sick, it doesn't count against you. I've learned over the years how to work the system. LOL

My entire life is about being spontaneous!! I just never can seem to get it to be anything else, due to my son’s health. In a bit I get to drive him to an appointment, and we currently have really high winds. I hate being on an interstate when the wiis like this, but there is no choice. Have a good day, Karen.

I hope you made it there and back home safely!! Wind has been bad here today too! Another one one the way this weekend. 4th weekend in a row for my area. Boo

@MarieCoyle For sure on the gas mileage. I had two idiot drives today that had their blinkers on to turn one way and they both turned the opposite way. You really have to watch out these days!

@kareng Yes, we will be getting some more storms this weekend, too. But oh, that hail Thursday night would be hard to beat, that was a storm, for sure. When the winds are this bad, it really does take a toll on both your nerves, and the gas mileage. Ugh.

How can anyone not love a Jamocha shake? I haven’t had one in years, but oh my word, I remember how unbelievable they are. I actually did something spontaneous this week, but I’m not sure if I should talk about it yet. If it goes well, I’ll probably say something.

They are fun to browse around. I found an old clock yesterday that looked interesting when I was putting something up that was left in my booth. I didn't have time to really give it a go-over to see what it needed, but will maybe check it out next week when I go back if I get my work done quickly!

I understand. That is my normal. Go by the schedule, but the schedule has been busted so many times lately with the weather, lost phone, lost car key, etc. - so that was my much needed break!!

@JordanLader You and me both! I'm having a string of bad luck here. Lost my cell phone, then car keys...that was my hubby's fault, and so much bad weather here on weekends so no events to do. It's got to get better!!
