That really was sweet....

It's 11:30 PM here and I am going to sleep feeling happy and loved.
. If you have read my recent posts, you would know of the health issues that I am going through in the last two weeks. And there is a surgery planned in the end of April or first half of May if everything goes well.
Since I made up my mind for this surgery after a detailed discussion with my doctor, my mind is more or less occupied with it. Taking good care of myself to ensure a good health for better recovery, taking care of logistics around the house and other things...a lot needs to be planned before I go for it as the recovery period might be few weeks, finishing few things that need to be done. I have been busy doing all these. Thankfully, I have two hours of therapy work to do in the afternoon that distracts me.
Today being Saturday, there was no therapy. I was free in the afternoon. One of my friend ( one from our walking gang) called me and asked if I could join in her home for a tea party at 6. Nothing better to do, I agreed without a second thought. Well, it was a good gathering of seven of us with tea and some filling snacks to go with it. In fact it was good enough for a dinner. I even got some packed for my daughter at the end. So, what I had actually cooked at home can be used tomorrow and I have some leftovers from the party too that I carried. So, Sunday would be cooking free.
It was sweet of her to call this gathering to cheer me up or distract me. We had fun, laughter, food and some funny games. I enjoyed every moment of it and my mind was totally off from my health issues. And there were stories shared of friends and family undergoing similar health situation and how each one has successfully recovered. That was lot of assurance with those stories and that brought a lot of hope and confidence.
That really was sweet. Each one promised to come and see me and help me and my family with food etc. None of them are close friends like that of college and school days. No one is my 3AM friend in the group. But we have known each other for more than a decade staying in the same neighborhood. We walk together and chat while walking. And we have always come to support each other whenever it was needed. Having such support in neighbourhood friends is a blessing.
. I really feel blessed
Hope all is well in your myLot corner. I will be here for some more minutes. Good night from this side of the planet.

I read fairy tales if my wife is asleep. If she is awake; we talk or play chess or board games.

Yes, those positive stories are so reassuring buliding up the faith and trust. I really appreciated that, I need it very much at this point of time. Yes, I can't call them very close ones or a 3 AM friend, but yes, we have been there for each other in the neighborhood for a while now. That's a true blessing.

Thank you Rebecca. It's true blessing! Indeed a very thoughtful and touching gesture.
My endometriosis combined with menopause has been impacting my quality of life lately. So, finally my doctor took a call for complete hysterectomy and ovariectomy. We have to work on few parameters in my blood work for a month and then go for the surgery in May if all goes well.
And a very tiny lump came suspicious in my mammogram. Biopsy also was not conclusive, but it's very tiny, maybe the size of a very small grain. So, they have asked me to keep coming for scan every three months to keep a watch. My annual medical checkup got me into running between radiology and oncology department. I was a bit restless.

Thank you for your positivity. I am staying positive that everything will be alright. The date is approaching fast. Another two weeks to go.
Yes, having helping neighbours is a blessing. Here in city life, people are too busy with the fast paced life. So, it's heartening when people throw such thoughtful gesture.

What a heartfelt and beautiful update — thank you for sharing it. It’s inspiring to see how you’re facing everything with such grace, strength, and thoughtful planning. It’s so touching that your walking group friend organized the tea gathering for you. Sometimes those simple gestures become the brightest moments in challenging times. Laughter, shared stories, and the promise of support from your community — those are powerful gifts, especially when you’re preparing for surgery and all the logistics that come with it.
It’s truly special to have neighborhood friends who, even if not 3AM friends, consistently show up when it matters. That kind of quiet, steady support is such a blessing. I’m really glad the afternoon brought you comfort and hope. Sending you warm thoughts for your continued strength and for a smooth surgery and recovery ahead. What’s one thing you’re doing for yourself tomorrow, now that it’s a cooking-free Sunday?

Thank you for your thoughtful and positive reply. Thank you for your wishes and concern too. I am scheduled for surgery in first week of May, most probably 4th of May. So far, things look good and I am positive that it will stay the same way.
I agree with every word of your. They are true blessing.
It was a cooking free Sunday last week and I enjoyed a couple of movies with my younger daughter.
And today I had an elaborate cooking day as I had few relatives visiting. It's another Sunday coming to an end here. Have a good week ahead

That was really touching and very much needed by me. Those positive sharings were so reassuring. All is going well so far. Things have improved in the latest blood work that I got done on Friday. I have to get it done again two days before the surgery to get a fit for surgery certificate. We are scheduled for first week of May, mostly it would be 4th, if all continues well. I am very positive it would be.
Thank you for all your concern and wishes. I hope that you had/ are having a good weekend. Have a good week ahead

@grenery8 Now, I am done with the blood work and sucking blood for now. Next series of tests would be two days before surgery as part of protocol to see that I am fit for surgery.
Good that you have plenty of ways to distract your mind
