I have a big exam tomorrow.

I will go tomorrow to a CAT scan. Computer Axial tomography scan. The name sounds terrible and I also dread how much it will cost me.
But I am very much worried about what I have in my stomach so I´ll have to have it.
I´ll go to Dixie´s house and from there we´ll go to the hospital. I´m worried that I haven´t eaten much today. I think that I´ll open a can of tuna because I must not eat anything 4 hours before the exam. And 1 hour before I will have to drink 1 liter of water. That is as horrible as not eating anything. I´ll make me a sandwich late at night.
And I decided not to eat some of my pain pills. There will be time to take them tomorrow. I´ll invite Dixie to a coffee shop after the CAT scan.
Friends, old age is not nice

See you tomorrow.

I wish you the best of luck on your CAT scan. My daughter had a CAT scan on her arm a few months ago to get a better look at a bone tumor, so that the surgeon could plan a course of action for removing it. Between the X-ray, CAT scan and MRI, they had a pretty good graphic look at the tumor and the best way to get in and remove it.
I hope your CAT scan provides some answers as well, and helps find a treatment option to help relieve your pain!

I hope your daughter is doing okay and the doctors can get all of the tumor out and she heals quickly and cleanly. Keeping her in my thoughts.

I know that cat scans aren’t cheap. But they are not painful on your body, just the pocketbook! I hope you get some answers soon. Saying prayers for you, sweetie!

Thank you. I will not think about the cost although I´m sure that the exams and doctors will amount to an airplane fare to Aruba.

@MarieCoyle The health insurance paid part of it. But my retirement money is not very good.

When you posted about the cost, I got curious and looked up what it would cost in the US. The average Cat scan without insurance is $3,275.00, up to $4,750. Which is crazy expensive...I didn't look up how much that is in your money or costs. Way, way more than an airline ticket here!

I hope you get some useful answers for all the trouble. Also hope the cost is modest.

The cost is never modest but if it works, I will accept it happily.

I hope so. I´m beginning to realise that 80 years of age is a lot.
