I Wasn't Awake Yet

Generally speaking, when it comes to coffee, we don't use the pods. However, we do have a dual choice coffee maker with a regular pot on the left and pods on the right, and we do generally keep pods in the house. Most of the time if any get used, it's for company.
We also use a Keurig and pods in the camper, but that's just for convenience.
But at home, it's usually a whole pot and then we drink it until it is gone, keeping it in the pot.
This morning, I had some left and made myself a cup with the last of it, and then threw in a pod for the wifey since I decided I didn't want a lot of leftover coffee before we leave on Thursday for our first camp of the new season.
I hit the "brew now" button and headed off to my man room to begin my daily activities. A few minutes later I heard my wife scream from the kitchen and then it came, "You idiot! You didn't put a cup under it!"
I love you too, Sweetie. Anyway, I got up and helped her clean up the mess, got another cup prepared for her, this time properly of course, and apologized.
"I wasn't awake yet."

I don't know how anyone expects us to perform/function in this world before we've had our morning coffee! And that includes making coffee. I'm surprised I don't screw up more often when trying to make coffee in the morning, because I am definitely not awake yet when I do it.

@porwest I hear you. I'm the same way. I'm lucky I can make it to the bathroom to pee in the morning, before that first cup of coffee!

Yikes that certainly wasn't what your wife expected when she went for her coffee.
I've done that myself but with a whole pot of coffee. We have the coffee ready to go in the morning so all we have to do is push the brew button. However I didn't realize the carafe was in the dishwasher and just pushed the button. Needless to say coffee was all over

A whole pot would be an entirely different kind of mess. Yikes. lol. As for us, we always have the carafe on the burner and it is a rule in our house to NEVER, EVER, EVER wash the carafe. I may occasionally wipe it out, but never with soap.
In fact, the only time I might even wipe it out is if we've been away for a couple of days. Other than that, we don't touch it.

When I'm feeling lazy, I use my Keurig. No coffee measuring just some water and a cup underneath. Yes, that cup is just as important as the pod and water, lol.
