The first YouTube video, titled "Me at the zoo," was uploaded on April 23, 2005, by co-founder Jawed Karim. In this 18-second clip, Karim stands in front of the elephant enclosure at the San Diego Zoo, sharing a brief commentary about the animals. This simple video marked the beginning of a platform that would revolutionize how we consume and share video content.
At the time, the concept of user-generated content was still in its infancy. Little did anyone know that this unassuming clip would pave the way for millions of creators and countless genres of content. Today, YouTube boasts over 2 billion users, with videos spanning every imaginable topic. "Me at the zoo" serves as a nostalgic reminder of the platform's humble beginnings and its incredible journey since then.
Although today, AI is killing human created content on videos there. Shame that.

I am a big YouTube fan. I can go on there and watch anything on any subject. It is so informative. And it's only been since 2005. They've sure come a long way. I have never published anything on there. I would like to try it sometime.

Yes, I do shorts videos. And Youtube has also paved the way for creators to get monetized and earn from content creation. YouTube is also my go-to for almost anything because it has all the topics under the sun that you can imagine. I usually look for new recipes to try on yt or how-to's, beauty and health or just watch anything I find interesting.

I can't even remember when I discovered YT or what I even saw first. Wow, YT has come a long way since. Yah, I don't like the AI content . . . but it is scary how very soon we may not be able to tell the difference. I plan to create playlists eventually, but I don't want to make my own videos.

Wow, how cool is that, YouTube is celebrating it's 20th birthday! I watch different videos mainly Travel Vloggers , and Preachers. I also like Dr Pimple Popper. I know that sounds gross but I find it fascinating. I do have a few video "shorts" that I have posted.

Its hard to believe that first video was 20 years ago and I agree that videos have come a long way since then. I remember watching MTV videos when my kids were growing up and every song had a video attached.
